This is my tempo/midrange deck (Version 917.9) that aims to take advantage of Siren's Ruse to abuse ETB effects from Ravenous Chupacabra, Hostage Taker, Gonti, Lord of Luxury, and Kitesail Freebooter to gain a massive card advantage over our opponents. Everything in this deck gets more than its mana cost worth already, and with the ability to dodge removal spells with Siren's Ruse which then retriggers an ETB effect, and also possibly draws us a card (because seven of our creatures are pirates) the tempo is hard to overcome. Glint-Sleeve Siphoner and Servant of the Conduit are the energy guys that help us stabilize in the early game. Servant of the Conduit is a key player here, allowing us to get out one of our critical 4 drops on turn 3, and providing extra energy for Glint-Sleeve Siphoner to work with. The Scarab God is the big win con, along with all the tempo from reusing ETB effects. The Scarab God and Liliana, Death's Majesty give us reanimation options to further abuse ETB effects, and finish things off in the late game.

There is some great synergy in the deck, starting with Siren's Ruse and a Hostage Taker or Kitesail Freebooter, granting us an extra card draw on top of re-triggering their effects. Obviously the three energy cards work together well for an extra early game push (which is really helpful since we aren't running any three drops) either through extra mana or card draw. The reanimation from The Scarab God and Liliana, Death's Majesty work to further abuse all those tasty ETB effects.

Sideboard is really what I think could use some fine tuning, but also until the meta balances out it's anyones guess. Carnage Tyrant, Negate and Duress are to switch in against control, which is where I feel this deck might be weakest. Lost Legacy is for approach and decks that rely on certain key pieces.

Any and all advice is welcome! It's been years since I played any competitive magic (Llorwyn block) so while I've been trying to get caught up to how things are now, I could have easily overlooked some things. In early testing I've been dominating my friends with this deck, and it's looking like it will be very competitive! I haven't been able to play against any mono red or vehicles decks though, so we'll have to just wait and see how that goes.

Thanks everyone!
