Bump about updates to the deck from battlebond/M19?

Battlebond/M19 have not added anything new really. Vivien Reid is vaguely interesting because it can hit fliers (notably, Linvala and Mindcensor).

Fair enough, thanks!

Hey biopouvoir, I have spent the last month tinkering with the all legend line, and I have made a fair amount of head I think, and I'd love to get your opinion on it. The deck really only runs a couple dead cards for the combo, and I'd love to get your opinion on it!

I've set up a full primer, test hands and my thought process for mulligans, and a full single card discussion (minus lands), so I think it will be pretty self explanatory!

this primer has a lot of old combo lines that are no longer in the deck.. infact idk how you are bouncing anything any more.. you don't have any of that in here.

it seems the only line you have now is selvala and elixer.. you should probably redraw the game plan of this. Maybe even put riftsweeper in here... so you can get back the main win conditions.

kk I also forgot the nyleas bow line. So then you just made it so it has the 2 lines of play for comboing off. It took me a minute to look at it sorry about that.

That being said... if you were to add more recursion.... what do you think about riftsweeper if exile is something that happens a bit in your meta?

Oh, this deck is a proof of how the combo could work, instead you should look at Sisay Primer (Stax-Combo) (100% Competitive!) for a much better developed and protected combo, with cards like Dosan the Falling Leaf and things like that, as well as a full set of disruptive toolbox spells.

The combo shown in this list does work, and isn't old. In fact the combo only works as well as it does because of Mox Amber and the super-secret tech I have been sharing with Seton, Krosan Protector to make the amount of mana required to win with just a free spell to start the chain after the 5 mana for Paradox Engine was used.

How do you use Survival in this deck?

October 20, 2018 11:19 p.m.

SynergyBuild says... #11

When you are unable to access Sisay, you can use survival to be a repeated tutor. Yisan also helps.

Assuming Paradox Engine is banned what are the other possible alternative win lines?

October 23, 2018 8:58 a.m.

SynergyBuild says... #13

Why would it be banned? I guess if your playgroup does the banning you can just fetch Yisan, the Wanderer Bard and use a line with him and cards like Wirewood Symbiote, Priest of Titania, and Mirror Entity to generate infinite mana and pump.

October 23, 2018 9:25 a.m.

it is because sheldon menry said in a post he doesn't like it and and it is on the watch list. he wants it banned.

He actually only said that they were divided on it. Really, at that point the whole cEDH meta would have to switch if we acted like every card they discuss bannings about we strayed away from.

So the sissay I run is pretty simalar. However I'm trying to get her out by turn 2 and win turn three. I can do this pretty consecutively. To win I need paradox engine, sevala explorer returned, and Sensais devining top that will let storm off into atherflux resivore and drain the boards life total. Is this combo still relevant or should I switch to one of these ones that you've listed.

Building my deck based on this with a few unofficial sideboard pieces to combat a gitrog deck in my meta which I'm usually just 1v1ing because the rest of our meta isnt reallt up to power. However while I'm making these cuts I notice you dont have blasting station or reki or cloudstone which are some major pieces for inventors fair lines. So I'm confused where they in and got taken out, or just were never in there and you mentioned them just as possible choices? Also how do you feel about the changes I made to combat gitrog: Root Maze Darksteel Mutation and Rest in Peace. And also wondering why there a lack of eternal witness effects?

You don't have to run Blasting Station and Cloudstone Curio.

One line is to use Inventor's Fair to get Blasting Station, a small legendary creature, and Bow of Nylea for infinite damage.

Another is to use Cloudstone Curio + anything with an ETB or cast trigger that you have enough mana to pay for. Reki is used often for this line, but there's also decks that use Ulamog, Kozilek, etc., by generating infinite mana.

The one this current iteration of the deck uses is WG Selvala + Thousand Year Elixir + Green Sun's Zenith to draw out each opponent. TYE gets you two draws per spell cast, which its determinance depends on how many legendary cards are in the deck, but the chance of fizzling is insanely low.

You could also just generate infinite mana using Opal, Amber, Seton, Rishkar, and Kamahl (since the last 2 are druids), then casting and tutoring Saffi Eriksdotter and Bow of Nylea (net gain of 1 mana per loop), and kill with any number of methods like Kamahl, Fist of Krosa + Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite to eliminate opposing lands, and Urza's Ruinous Blast to exile everything else the opponent has that makes mana, then just swing until they die.

There's any number of methods to kill with Sisay (seeing as you can tutor about anything lol), and this particular deck is trying to make the winning method as compact as possible, hence not running Bontu's Monument, or something, which is a card that's completely useless outside of the kill turn or when on the Stax plan.

I'm sure someone else could explain it better than I, though, so defer to their advice when/if they post.

What are some weaknesses of captain sisay at this current point in time?

February 15, 2019 1:13 p.m.

lightninja7

It's very fragile, and you have to be smart about playing to your outs. It's fun, it's fast, it's effective. Doesn't mean that any U/B deck doesn't just dominate the deck. There are ways around, but it's very much about knowing how to bait. Sometimes the fast route isn't great. The combat dmg and stax plan has won a few games for me.

Stax into combo is almost always the out for this deck. Knowing what to, and often when to fetch answers is super key, and if played properly, Sisay is easily in the top 3 cEDH lists IMO. (Teferi & Najeela being a bit higher)

Why would you be concerned about fetching lands with Sisay. Wouldn’t you want to be more concerned with comboing off?
