The idea here is to build up your creatures with +1/+1 counters from Verdurous Gearhulk, Master Biomancer, Kalonian Hydra, and/or Gilder Bairn before swinging in, hopefully with Overwhelming Stampede. Mycoloth works especially well when entering after stacking counters on Master Biomancer, and likely won't need to rely on creatures to sacrifice to Devour to work well, especially with the deck's typical win condition of stacking counters with Kalonian Hydra and/or Gilder Bairn before rushing in with Overwhelming Stampede.
