So many people suggesting the same card over and over. lol

I am kindof curious if it's crucial to have 4x Break Through the Line instead of maybe 3 or 4? I get that it is important to grab that card and make a creature unblockable, but it almost seems like a waste to likely draw two or even three in a game.

FierceTierce it's essential to my strategy, hence the four copies, but it's also never wasted because casting a second copy triggers Prowess.

Yep, I definitely get it.

It is fun to declare something unblockable then trigger a bunch of combat tricks with prowess.

Add more Mountain, your fixing is way off.

Might want to clean up your maybeboard.

I like this. I have a GR aggro, and I like how quickly damage can get through. +1 from me.

I like a messy Maybeboard.

I leave it like that so people can see what I've tried, among other things.

Thanks for the +1.

I'm excited to run with this build and see if I can tweek it a bit but, I do think you could replace Break Through the Line with Sparkmage's Gambit instead. Kills off pesky 1 toughness creatures as well.

Of course you can shape this build however you want to.

Personally I prefer Break Through the Line to Sparkmage's Gambit because:

  1. It allows you to get damage through even if the Opposition has a lot of Creatures.

  2. It essentially lets you constantly play a "spell" for

Goof luck with your build. I hope it works well for you.

My deck consistently beats this deck:

Not Every Blue Player is Patient

Which confirms my belief that Creature removal is the way to go, over more aggressive spells like Titan's Strength and Temur Battle Rage.

My thought on the Sparkmage's Gambitwas:1. Prowess trigger2. Adds a Sorcery card to your graveyard for spell mastery 3. The 1 damage to 2 creatures could eliminate early chump blockers as well

Too situational for me.

Prowess and Spell mastery is achieved easily through other spells. The later, while nice, is by no means essential.

The last point is fairly situational. Chump blockers don't worry me too much as this deck can go long with all the card draw available.

Interesting idea, though. It makes me think that Boiling Earth may be a Sideboard option if the local meta heads in that direction.

Made some changes to the Sideboard.

Basically now going to see if Opponent's deck is heavy on fliers, in which case Tears of Valakut will come in, or large ground Creatures, for which I will side in Roast.

Negate will offer some protection against my Break Through the Line being removed, and Radiant Flames can be used as a board wipe against smaller Creatures.

Piloted this deck to 1st place at last night's FNM 4-0.

What's with Tears over Rending? Is it so that you can handle any non-Silumgar dragons like Thunderbreak, not just blue/white Ojutai?

Do you ever get flooded with this deck? 24 lands in an aggro deck seems like a tiny bit much to me.

Maybe an Island and a Mountain for Exquisite Firecraft and Fiery Impulse?

January 23, 2016 11:46 a.m.

Argy says... #19

Cringe you are just one mega dose of Legendary.

Did they cry when you made your Creatures Unblockable? lol

No to the "flooding". You are missing the "finesse".

Extra lands are great for pumping up Crater's Claws as a finisher.

Everybody looks at the end game when talking about lands.

"I don't want to draw lands at the end."

You know where you DO want to draw lands? At the beginning.

This deck works best if it can get all its little pieces out.

That means not being coloured-screwed for Stormchaser Mage, or mana screwed to get Break Through the Line happening, among other things.

You keep paying for its activation, too.

You can reduce the number of lands if you want to.

They are the perfect amount for me.

Something else I wanted to point out.

I have 4 copies of Break Through the Line and 4 copies of Negate in my Sideboard.

Most decks will Side in about 4 cards worth of Enxhantment hate.

That means I have double the chance to keep my Enchantment by either Negate the hate or replay Break Through the Line.

Midexin

Tears of Valakut = 5 damage to fliers. It also hits ALL fliers.

Rending Volley = 4 damage ONLY to White or Blue Creatures.

Will this deck be legal after April?

January 23, 2016 3:47 p.m.

Argy says... #24

Nope. Not legal once Shadows Over Innistrad drops.

I've been thinking about the fact that this deck has won a FNM and I haven't even built its physical form yet!

It's a bit surreal.

I should be getting the cards for it this week.
