I would take of Outpost Siege and Mouth of Ronom and put in 3 Chandra, Torch of Defiance. She replaces both cards and has other modes to use, she is all around awesome card.

@Swinger_of_Steel: She is suppose to be in there in place of the sieges. I just havent updated this list as she is in the mail. However, for the sake of the primer I will put her in now. As for taking out mouth I have been toying with 22 or 23 lands. At the moment it is probably safe to do 22 as I have 4 MindStone. Thanks for your feedback.

I so wish Stuffy Doll was played in more skred decks

@doodleman212: I gave it a honorable mention in the classic skred section. It is such a fun card! The obvious issue is path to exile makes it sad :-/

In your "Optional MB cards I found in some builds tab", I didn't know if Cathartic Reunion was left out on purpose or not when you mentioned Tormenting Voice.

Anwya, you seem to have a very thorough understanding of multiple different skred variants, and in all likelihood a lot of experience. One question that I'd like to ask you is what you think someone could do to take down skred. Obviously it depends on what they are playing and exactly what your skred-playing opponent is running, but I'm curious to know if there are any key cards or strategies besides creatureless combo that skred hates to see on the other side of the board. I'm particularly interested in what I should do against skred with my white weenie deck (my Burrenton Forge-Tenders, Selfless Spirits, and Brave the Elements weren't enough and sometimes got absolutely screwed by Pyrite Spellbomb). I figured I could try to rush down my opponent and protect my guys against wipes, and trade 1 for 1 card advantage, but... Pia and Kiran Nalaar stopped me cold. What would you do?

@WhisperingBlade: I will add that to the primer, it deserves a spot. Thanks for the input!

@WhisperingBlade: I have just added a whole section on how to combat skred! I hope that helps!

"Skred has no way to deal with enchantments. If you o-ring something, it will stay exiled."

Except for that pesky Eternal Scourge!

Swans of Bryn Argoll Skred is another variant, and my personal favorite. I play a straight RW version, splashing for swans, Nahiri and some good sideboard cards. Jeskai Swan Control is another variant, but although that deck plays Skred I'm not sure if you could consider it "Skred Red". Thanks for doing a primer! +1

@catrule3564: I shall be adding that to the primer shortly! Swans is a fun one I do not know how I forgot about it...

In the matchups section would you care to mention mid-range decks such at jund/ junk? I'd like to know how skred does against those archetypes. +1 for the good primer

@Semajss: On a happy note: YAY SKRED! It is about time its power was realized by the masses.

On a not so happy note: I always enjoyed having people read what my cards did but I guess that day is over. If skred does gain more spotlight I fear the whole "ban Blood Moon" debate will pop up again and that could spell trouble. So the bottom line is win but dont win too many large titles :P

Exiled_soul, I thoroughly agree. I think Skred is getting the attention it deserves... but this attention is in my opinion going to be the bane of the archetype. The surprise it posed when it was considered "tier 2 at best" is relatively gone, and more aggressive sideboards might be what we are looking at. I hope Blood Moon doesn't get banned; man lands, greedy landbases and iron will run rampant. I always that it was a great check on the other decks. My version is a little jank, but check it out. Blood, Bridges, and Burn (Skred Variant)

Where are the Mind Stones ma dude?

November 18, 2016 4:10 p.m.

Exiled_soul says... #20

@Clockwurk: They are in my binder. As per my disclaimer this is my deck that I am messing around with so please do not take it to be the "ideal" build.

Good to know. It's always good to experiment with new cards.

My personal opinion is try 1 Outpost Siege and 1 Chandra, Torch of Defiance. This way you can get a feel for what both do in the game and which one you are happier to have drawn. Also, in situations where you have both in hand, you can better see which you are happier to play and what situations arise from that decision. Having them both in hand also adds another decision, which I at the very least value in my games. If you end up liking one over the other, than roll with it. I do like at least 1 copy of Chandra though just to have another powerful planeswalker emblem wincon.

@WhisperingBlade: Oddly enough I did not get a notification that you posted! As for the suggestion I have also been thinking about the split in the deck 1 of each seems decent. Once I get my hands on a chandra I will be doing the split.

Great deck. +1! My favorite variant of skred-red is Wildfire skred. In addition to the playset of MindStone, I run 3 Coldsteel Heart to help ramp up and so that wildfire doesn't screw you over so hard.

Don't most Skred decks run at least a 2 of Reality Hemorrhage specifically to deal with Firewalker and Forge-Tender post-board?
