Maybeboard

This deck originally came from a desire to translate the Golgari aggro, "Black Mold" deck created by Alex Steacy from LoadingReadyRun, from its original format of Canadian Highlander into EDH.

Skullbriar is a voltron commander that focuses on resilience at the cost of speed. Even though it has haste, it can take longer to get going than a typical voltron commander, but the trade is that Skullbriar is extremely resilient against removal. Ikoria gave this deck tons of toys to play with thanks to ability counters, and if this deck can suit the commander up, it can become a real problem.

This isn't competitive, though. Focused removal from a table of optimized decks will slow it to a crawl, and since this has very few creatures, consistent combat pressure is also a weakness.

Even still, few things in life are as sweet as a commander that has hexproof, indestructible, trample, deathtouch, haste and 10 +1/+1 counters...and keeps them when it goes back to the command zone.
