For budget reasons (haha I know right) would Giant Growth be an acceptible substitute for Might of Old Krosa?
June 12, 2015 12:44 p.m.
canterlotguardian of course. Might is really good to prevent them killing it though... :P

What does might do to stop it from getting killed. Especially at sorcery speed

This deck is amazing! The only suggestion I have is more Crimson Wisps for extra haste. +1 from me nice deck!

If you want to run turbo infect drop Kiln Fiend for 4x Glistener Elf. This way even if you don't hit Monastery Swiftspear turn 1 you can still hit a turn 2-3 win with extreme consistency as just buffing this little guy with Groundswell and Assault Strobe is a turn 2 win. I would also highly recommend dropping Vines of Vastwood for 2 more Groundswell and drop Apostle's Blessing and Crimson Wisps for 4x land of some sort. You run 16 which I get because you have a super low curve but you have to hit land until turn 3 to have consistent chances vs most decks as you can't realistically mulligan this into a perfect hand every game. If you have the money go for 4x Inkmoth Nexus to give yourself even more consistency as this will give you evasive infect that your opponent with have trouble removing and can ping away for the last 2-3 poison if you aren't able to all in them for fatal on the first swing. Last idea would be running 2x Kessig Wolf Run as this is a great way in Grull to force damage. It is not the best early but on the off chance you end up on turn 4-5 you can Tainted Strike Monastery Swiftspear and dedicate the rest of your mana into pumping him for the final blow.
This deck is often ran in mono green and generally that brings the cost down a LOT as it doesn't require a very expensive mana base to be consistent but I love the creative use of Monastery Swiftspear. If you want to see the other versions for more ideas just search "Quickfect" and you should hit a lot of similar decks.
Obviously +1 for the very innovative ideas and let me know if you need any more help.

I find Apostle's Blessing very powerful and important to make sure my creatures get through against they're early creatures and to protect from that one removal spell they're probably going to have. I do like the idea of Glistener Elf, I'm surprised nobody else has recommended it. All your other ideas will require some more thought. Thanks for the +1 and ideas, I appreciate it!

I've spent a lot of time playing with infect and I think you should probably cut back 2 might of old for one more each apostles and vines. Yes might packs a heavy hit but only at sorcery speed at instant speed it might as well be a shitty mutagenic growth. And again with the very few highly vulnerable creatures this glass cannon runs losing one is game over.

Other creatures that benefit from spells being played are:
- Nivix Cyclops
- Blistercoil Weird
- Elusive Spellfist
- Ojutai Exemplars
- Pristine Skywise
- Sage of the Inward Eye
- Zephyr Scribe
- Charmbreaker Devils
- Guttersnipe
- Lunar Mystic
- Melek, Izzet Paragon
- Surrakar Spellblade
- Talrand, Sky Summoner
- Young Pyromancer
and everything that has Prowess and Heroic

@ironcore none of those suggestions are at all viable for the deck aside from maybe young pyromancer. One you didn't mention which I think is the only more recent creature who might be useful here is Akroan Crusader as his tokens have haste and he's a one drop. The deck aims to win at ludicrous speed cards like charmbreaker would never see the mana he needs to even hit the field.

hmm I agree with Felixlives. really only Young Pyromancer and maybe Blistercoil Weird are viable. Also, I like the idea of Akroan Crusader

Well the list i gave was because in the description it states and i quote
"I'm curious as to if there are any cards like Monastery Swiftspear that benefit from spells being cast. If there are, please please tell me."
As such i posted these creatures, besides that i DID mention Young Pyromancer it's at the very bottom on the list. Yes i knew not all the creatures are usefull in this deck but i decided that the deck owner would be the judge as what would be useful and what not.
Also i point him in the direction of createrus with Heroic and Prowess which work well with spells. I will also add that Elusive Spellfist would be a great addition to this deck because it gets +1/+0 and can't be blocked the latter being the best part of that buff.
Say you have Elusive Spellfist on the board you play Mutagenic Growth, Elusive Spellfist becomes a 4/5 then you play Assault Strobe, Elusive Spellfist becomes a 5/5 with can't be blocked and double Strike hitting for 10 damage throw in a Tainted Strike and it's game.
So all in all i'd say my post was helpfull at the very least
July 8, 2015 8:25 a.m.
no I wasn't complaining, I was just saying that they didn't work. Maybe I should rephrase my question. Anyways, I have no problem with your list.
July 8, 2015 10:21 a.m.
@ Minelia5 my former post was not directed to you but to Felixlives so don't worry about that
btw you could maybe consider extra buff cards like:
July 9, 2015 7:48 a.m.
since I'm trying to win really fast, I don't think the scry is important from Titan's Strength. I could consider Brute Force, but I also think Messenger's Speed is a little weaker than Crimson Wisps because I don't need to care about the trample (hopefully), and I get to replace the card in my hand with crimson wisps. Thanks for all the suggestions though!

Chancellor of the Tangle if you have been having trouble with SSG's mana colour?
August 20, 2015 7:38 a.m.
thanks for the suggestion, but at the moment I prefer the red land. I used to run him as well but decided he clogged my hand because the green mana right on the first turn isn't that great compared to a red mana any turn.
