Slimefoot is simple enough. Slimefoot deals 1 damage to your opponent and you gain 1 life whenever a Saproling dies, and you can pay 4 mana to create a Saproling. The deck revolves around how best to make use of Slimefoot and is filled with mana, mana-filtering, sac outlets and draw to get you more Saprolings in play as well as a way to get rid of them to deal lots of direct damage your opponent won't be able to block, and gain lots of life.

Mana dorks, for example, are great utility for boosting mana, providing early game chip damage, and are blockers on dead draws. Then there's tutors for mana which filter through your deck, giving you mana or some other utility advantage while decreasing the odds of dead draws. The card draw spells are carefully selected (like Costly Plunder instead of Sign in Blood) to be sacrifice outlets that kill Saprolings and will trigger Slimefoot as opposed to those that will drain your life. Other utility includes enchantment removal, grave recursion & exile, and saproling creators that double as sac outlets. It's good at serving multiple purposes. And there's enough raw mana in the deck to outpace land destruction for the most part.

For those interested, this deck is actually built for Pauper EDH -- it just happens to be EDH legal as well due to Slimefoot being legendary. It is also why you don't see obvious combo pieces like Parallel Lives, Doubling Season, Zulaport Cutthroat, Blood Artist et al. However, some people might find this build in EDH to be comfortable for casual playgroups. It offers great resilience and utility, and it's not a bad strategy. And besides, most magic players don't have all that much money, and this list is very cheap due to it being 99% commons and 1 uncommon.
