I'm not sure what I can do to improve this deck (except adding dual lands instead of other lands).
In short, I've tried to design the deck to get out as many slivers as possible into play as fast as possible and kill my oponent with their overwhelming strength and numbers. The Homing Sliver are there so I could cycle them at any given moment to fetch something I feel I'm lacking in a given situation. I've tried to not have too many lands in the deck and instead rely on the Gemhide Sliver and Manaweft Sliver to get enough mana quickly so I can get one of the big slivers out (Sliver Queen,Sliver Overlord or Sliver Legion) The two
Descendants' Path
adds to a more long-term plan if the game prolongs but I'm not sure if I feel like they fit very well in here; I could afterall put in two other slivers instead and perhaps quicken things up a bit.
I've been considering adding a
Brood Sliver
but I feel like its CMC is too high to keep in the deck, anyone got thoughts about this?
This deck is built to battle any and everything without any kind of sideboard but if anyone got some ideas on sideboards, that'd be great! I've never had a deck with a sideboard and got no idea what's good to put in one.
All in all, I'm very open to suggestions and feedback!
When it comes to the midgame, one extra sliver which adds +1/+1 doesn't feel as important as the other slivers. Upon inspection, I'd say that the slivers I think I could remove would be: Striking Sliver, Quick Sliver, Heart Sliver and possibly the
Spectral Sliver
for either more
Muscle Sliver
,
Predatory Sliver
or Sinew Sliver.
The reason I'd like to keep the Striking Sliver is that it adds a nice defense in the beginning, where my slivers' defensive stats are low. When it comes to Quick Sliver and Heart Sliver, they're nice because it makes the deck less predictable and makes it easier to trick around with mana abilities from the other slivers.
It's not unusual for me to play 1x sliver round 2 and 3x slivers round 3 if I have Heart Sliver out in play together with a Manaweft Sliver or a Gemhide Sliver. This means that I possibly could have 8 mana on round 4 to possibly slivercycle and fetch either of Sliver Queen, Sliver Legion, Sliver Overlord and also play it at the same turn.
As soon as I get Sliver Legion out in play, I feel like the +1/+1 slivers don't really add much; I'd rather have provoke, regenerate, shroud, flying or other abilities on my slivers by then.
I'm a little bit reluctant to add more sorceries/instants and/or enchantments to the deck because it weakens the
Descendants' Path
and also weakens my slivers. (One card which isn't a sliver means one less ability for the slivers or weaker slivers). That being said. I've been wondering if I should add something more to draw from the graveyard, maybe another
Aphetto Dredging
?
I've also been feeling as if I should add some removals to the deck but at the same time, I feel like with the Necrotic Sliver and the Harmonic Sliver together with the Homing Sliver and Sliver Overlord , I have a quite fair chance of getting what I need to remove threats.
