With Ashling the Pilgrim as your General, you can only run Red cards that are only red.
Morselhoarder, Shaman of the Great Hunt, and Manamorphose can't be run in your deck. They have color identities of other colors that are not mono-red.

So I'm going to suggest Urabrask the Hidden also remove Rage Forger it only works with one card in the deck.

Casey4321 I see your point on Rage Forger, but I am going to keep him because the point is to work with that one creature anyway. However, I will sub out a Lightning Strike for Ashling's Prerogative; same effect as Urabrask the Hidden, but a cheaper cost.

Maybe Obelisk of Urd for all the elementals and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx just because its mono. But still, +1!

Remember to tell your opponents "Don't hate the game, hate the 'flayer"

-1 HateflayerIt didn't work out between us. It wasn't him, it was me.

+1 Assault Strobe, I feel like a one drop double strike can compensate enough.

+1 Commune with Lava

I took out Cinder-mancer because his damage, while incremental; doesn't compare to ramp.

*The deck is now illegal until DTK is released. Please keep that in mind.

Due to liking the artwork of Chandra, Pyromaster's San Diego ComicCon 2013's artwork, I have added it to the deck. It costs roughly 180USD alone, and I cannot get the 2013 edition to display on the board above. However, the 2014 edition is there in its place.

I have taken out Quietus Spike and a few other cards, in place adding more Mountains. There was not an issue with mana, just drawing more mountains more often can rarely backfire with this deck; namely due to Ashling the Pilgrim just soaking most of the leftovers.

Arcbond and Satyr Firedancer duplicate effects you already have and could give you more dependability

carpecanum, I've added Arcbond, but not Satyr, due to letting Ashling double damage. Thanks for the suggestion!

In other news, I have removed quite a bit of cards in an effort to lower mana costs, lower price of the deck, and increase lands. I am now up to 35 lands, and it seems to be a good number for now(for the most part, statistically you're bound to have a bad hand now and then). The idea is to use the deck as just a toolbox to support Ashling or divert attention away from her specifically, all the while being able to use her ability at any point. So far it seems pretty okay, as the one drop support is pretty strong here.

I'd suggest adding Magebane Armor, as it would perform a similar function to Darksteel Plate in keeping your general alive through her own effect. Not sure if Basilisk Collar is in your price range but that's also pretty silly with your general. Also any red deck with the potential to kill via general damage should run Seize the Day.

Also a less sure suggestion: damage doublers? (Dictate of the Twin Gods/Furnace of Rath) Risky but could potentially pay off. Gratuitous Violence however functions similarly in doubling the damage Ashling does but without the risk of these other two.

@SereneWings Magebane Armor is an interesting choice, I'll put that on the maybeboard.

In previous renditions of this deck, I had a large number of damage doublers to boost up Ashling, but it resulted in suicide more often than a kill. Repercussion and Arcbond turned out to be fine. Seize the Day would require a minor overhaul to become more combat focused.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I think this deck need a lot of work before it can be considered viable in a competitive setting. The biggest problem is that its theme is all over the place so much so I wouldn't even call it a gimmick. This deck is partly Vultron, burn, and Elemental tribal but because the attention is so split its not very good at any of these things. And the biggest problem I see is that you run too many short term value cards for commander. You have to remember that commander is a chaos format and you have to plan to deal with 2-3 opponents. Cards like Fling and Lava Spike just aren't worth it unless they are killing your opponent. Even a card as amazing as Lightning Bolt is a questionable card in commander.

If you are wanting to suit up Ashling and turn her sideways let me suggest adding Magebane Armor, Basilisk Collar, And Shield of Kaldra along with the other Kaldra equipment cards in the set. Of course the swords that give protection from red like Sword of War and Peace and Sword of Fire and Ice are crazy good but I can understand not wanting to invest the money into them.

As for long term value I suggest more mana rocks instead of ritual cards. For starters Caged Sun is a big one. Then you can pick up Mind Stone, Hedron Archive, maybe a Dreamstone Hedron, and Burnished Hart.

If you are going to stick with the Elemental theme you should try Rakka Mar, Incandescent Soulstoke, Soulbright Flamekin, Tunnel Ignus, War Elemental, Ingot Chewer, Malignus, Scourge of Geier Reach, Thunderblust, Hostility, Spitebellows, Hateflayer, and Tyrant of Discord.
