To be clear PlattBonnay, the article you link states that the main exception to the facts presented are red aggro decks where they can afford to pay the life cost involved in order to thin out cards and get value ASAP. Guess what kind of deck this is?

Noctem: If you actually do the statistical regression, though, it is a MINUSCULE effect. Even if you draw entirely fetchlands, in four turns, you have only thinned your remaining deck by 8% (and that's the absolute best-case scenario). I mean, since the life loss doesn't matter so much, it can't HURT to do it, but still. Fetchlands aren't always worth it to include in a mono-colored deck.

Looks nice, if I had to suggest something it would be Obelisk of Urd, its always a pain to play against for me. +1

PlattBonnay : I added the 3rd Zurgo Bellstriker and it feels right after some playtesting.
After some games I felt that Hammer of Purphoros didn't bring what I was hoping for, so I added 2x Anger of the Gods instead for more board control. My creatures won't be affected because of the dash ability :-)

TheNextRedDude : Obelisk of Urd is indeed nuts to play with. I am going to add the card to the mainboard. Now to figure out how to push it in...

Hey! I was thinking to try something like this exactly for standard and someone told me it isn't a thing! Huh ...

Since you already have the fetchlands, you may as well use them for some colour splashes. Atarka's Command would help push this deck to the next level.

Collateral Damage. chump block with a token, then before damage resolution, sac it to cast a Lightning Bolt at a target of your choice. It's what goblins were meant for, lol. This way you "cash in" with Impact Tremors and "cash out" with Collateral Damage.
Nice song, btw. =D

So just an FYI, your deck isn't standard legal anymore.

guessling : Give it a try. I went to a competitive event and reached a 3-0 with ease... It's fun and very enjoyable with different win cons. And affordable :-)
PlattBonnay : Thx for your imput! I see what it could add. But what could be taken out then? As I have a hard time to decide what to take out for it... Sticking to the initial plan seems more consistent.
Hades_Shadow : Thanks! It's proven solid enough. But now to figure how to push it to a next level without losing the theme/tactic....
LilGuy : I see, but I like to stick to the current block where the deck counts as standard as of the moment it was built in.
Gattison : I love the suggestion. What would you take out for 2/3 of those instead?

Well you have to take out Goblin Rabblemaster, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Anger of the Gods, Stoke the Flames, and Obelisk of Urd because of rotation, so that would be a good place to start.
October 18, 2015 12:35 p.m.
i agree with PlattBonnay. None of the cards he mentioned are standard-legal. They all rotated out with m15/Theros Block. In particular though, replace Stoke the Flames with Collateral Damage.
Also, replace Goblin Rabblemaster with Goblin Piledriver. Maybe replace Purphoros, God of the Forge with Zada, Hedron Grinder.
I can't think of anything off the top of my head to replace Anger of the Gods and Obelisk of Urd, but if I do, I'll come back and post it.

PlattBonnay & Gattison :
I wanted to keep this deck in the old standard build before the latest rotation.I didn't want to update it, as my friends also kept their old standard decks from the same standard period.
I guess it's named modern now, or block constructed :-) Dunno actually where to put it in, as I don't want to fish in the 'modern' pond.
Was looking for possible additions from that standard period.
A new commander deck I did build and a new standard legal deck is in the making....Thanks!

Definitely needs 4x Lightning Bolt, no questions asked. You can take out the Anger of the Gods and Searing Blood for it.
November 18, 2015 4:14 p.m.
Nef : Well I might switch to modern if the tactic I play could remain somewhat competitive. The range of cards availble could make this even more fun :)
November 27, 2015 6:36 p.m.
Goblins is a thing in modern. Not super competitive but it's fine if you're not looking to win a gp or something xD
November 27, 2015 6:39 p.m.
Nef : The key cards in this deck are Impact Tremors & Purphoros, God of the Forge. Basically triggering them as much as possible. Perhaps more token based cards or something to exploit the dash mechanic even more..... not sure yet.

If you want to go like that I'd suggest adding in white for Raise the Alarm, Lingering Souls but souls would require some kind of black source. If you cram instants and sorcery spells you can use Young Pyromancer
Ohnoeszz says... #1
How bout a white splash for monastery mentor and raise the alarm? I think the warbringers, brawlers and heelcutters add up to a lot of extra mana for the dashing, and otherwise do little(heelcutter aside). I think you'd be better pumping out more tokens to tremors the opponent while gumming up the ground. White can help you side board for matchups as well (chain to the rocks, enchantment removal...).
