A control deck straight from hell, this deck strives to fill the hole left by the rotating Jund by playing individually threatening creatures backed up by an arsenal of potent removal.
Creatures:
Lifebane Zombie: At is very worst, this cantankerous zombie will allow you to look at your opponents hand, only to be chumped by your opponent's random black creature. At its best, however, it allows you to neuter your opponent's threat base while providing an unblockable threat. Bring the two out of the board when playing a deck with green and white creatures.
Desecration Demon: A 6/6 flier for 4 with the ubiquitous demonic downside. However, when you're blowing up your opponent's board state on the regular you get a 6/6 evasive creature with a low mana cost that can secure the game in a few short turns. Survives Anger of the Gods and blocks like a champion if need be.
Stormbreath Dragon: Thundermaw's lower powered, more utilitarian cousin. Swings for 4 in the air the turn it comes out and threatens to become monstrous in the late game. Dodges Detention Sphere and Azorius Charm and generally poops on planeswalkers. This house needs little explanation.
Planeswalker:
Chandra, Pyromaster: A removal enhancer, blocker remover, draw engine and win condition all in one, Chandra really pulls her now-hefty pricetag in this deck. Whether she is murdering x/1s, putting your opponent on a clock, pseudo-drawing cards, or ultimating for the win, this incarnation of the quintessential red planeswalker has found a cozy home.
Spells:
Dreadbore
, Mizzium Mortars, Magma Jet, Lightning Strike and Anger of the Gods provide the hefty removal base that makes this deck tick. The red burn spells can end a game that threatens to stabilize and
Dreadbore
pulls double duty by murdering assorted planeswalkers.
Thoughtseize + Rakdos's Return provide black's infamous hand control and take care of threats before they have the chance to even hit the board. They, coupled with Lifebane Zombie, do a stellar job of keeping you informed and ahead of your opponent's plans.
