So after a lot of experimenting and deck changes. Money spent. I have arrived at this deck to take into the next FNM. I'll post results after the event.

This is an adapted version of the Mono-black deck.

The deck works by getting one of your gods out 4th turn with full devotion, and then playing a Gray Merchant of Asphodel on the 5th turn and swinging for the win.

1 Drop -

Tormented Hero : I like this card because it is a very aggressive 1 drop. Swinging for 2 on the second turn, and can be bestowed later in the game for a bit of extra damage.

2 Drops -

Spiteful Returned (Creature) : I chose this because of the synergy it has with the deck and with tormented hero. The two together can swing for 5 on turn 3. (2 unblockable damage due to loss of life)

Devour Flesh : Basic removal will help you against indestructible creatures and early game removal.

Ultimate Price / Doom Blade : Great removal for a variety of situations.

Bile Blight : Great against mono-blue and fast aggro decks. Will help keep the numbers down. (Also negated Experiment One's regeneration.)

3 Drops -

Nightveil Specter : Just a great card. Adds 3 devotion. Want to play this guy 3rd turn as much as possible.

Herald of Torment (Creature) : If you don't have a specter handy drop this guy 3rd turn.

Hero's Downfall : Must have for any black deck. Save for planeswalkers if they are going to be a problem.

4 Drops -

Erebos, God of the Dead : Great god, can get full devotion when dropped on turn 4.

Mogis, God of Slaughter : Another great god, can be played most turn 4s but won't likely get devotion until turn 5.

Whip of Erebos : Must have a black deck in standard. It's one of those too good not to use cards.

Desecration Demon : A great threat. Play them whenever possible.

Spiteful Returned (Bestow) : Bestow him to your fully devoted god, to add 2 more damage to an already powerful attack.

5 Drops -

Herald of Torment (Bestow) : Bestow him to a god or a Desecration Demon. For extra damage.

Gray Merchant of Asphodel : An insanly amazing common for a devotion deck. This will win you games all the time. Drop it turn 5 and swing for a quick victory.
