The idea of this deck is to flip my
Ludevic's Test Subject
and then use the Essence Harvest to act as a semi-finisher. Otherwise, Killing Wave would have already weakened them enough, in which case I would use Artful Dodge to get the death-blow in. I know that the deck is instant- and sorcery-heavy so what do you think of Delver of Secrets
? Any potential there?
I added red (the initial concept was Dimir) for burn and Nicol Bolas. I hope it works, as I want the deck to be the epitome of Cruel Control. If you know of a way - that fits into Grixis - to tutor the Test Subject, please let me know.
I include Killing Wave as a three-of because I'll almost always just pay a couple of life to keep my
Ludevic's Test Subject
alive, while my opponent will (ideally) be forced to pay a huge amount or, at the very least, 4 or 6 more than me, which will put their life in killing range of 13 damage (sound familiar?).
I'm having a slight problem with card draw, so tell me what you think I can do to help that. If I get more, I might need to take out Thunderous Wrath, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
Any suggestions at all as well as +1s are very welcome.
P.S. I've taken out Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker for another Underworld Connections. What do you think?
