Introduction

Why Tasigur

I love golgari but it missed something so I looked for a third colour (minimum) and saw someone playing Tasigur. The deck he played and the mechanics were really interesting so I decided to give it a try.

With the new ban list and card releases I wanted to improve the deck so I reached out and asked some friends to help me with it.

The_Smurf is a hardcore golgari player and after the flash ban he took a look at my deck and posted a list he had in mind to follow. With some other friends (bntjah was one of them), we started working on the list and came to this result. I would recommend u to check out there profiles because they have very strong decks with amazing mechanics in it.

The maybeboard is a list of cards that I want and I will trade them later on. But first some playtesting!

Goal of the deck

The main goal of the deck is to sack Protean Hulk. This is because it gives us one of the easiest/ fastest lines to combo off. After his ability resolves we get out Blood Pet, Thassa's Oracle and Spellseeker, then we prioritize the ETB trigger of spellseeker searching for Demonic Consultation as we get that in hand we cast it in response of the ETB trigger of Thassa's oracle. At last the ETB trigger of Thassa's oracle resolves wich wins us the game if all goes well.

Since Flash ban, it has become a bit more difficult to easily win on turn 2 or maybe to put it better "less obviously". So different approaches had to been made to maintain the consistency of the deck.

To do this we have different ways. Trying to either cheat him into play with cards like Eldritch Evolution and Neoform or reanimate him from the grave to have him sacked on the end of the turn. Examples of cards that reanimate him and let us sack hulk at the end of turn are: Apprentice Necromancer and Necromancy

Wincons

1. Main wincon

Our main wincon is ofcourse the all known fish line since Thassa's Oracle came out. We are trying to get the combo with the hulk line in the deck.

2. Backup wincon

As back up wincon we go for infinte mana combo's. To ramp we also play artifacts so I chose to get out Dramatic Reversal and Isochron Scepter since we are playing enough mana dorks and mana artifacts. After getting infinite mana we use the ability of Tasigur infinite times to "draw" our entire deck except for lands. And again we try to win with either Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac + draw effect.
