So, I've played a handful of games with this deck, and I've done some fiddling with some of the balances. I don't remember all of the changes I've made, but I can outline the significant ones.
First off, Ornithopter has made a triumphant return to my deck. With the addition of another Springleaf Drum I no longer have to rely on drawing Ensoul Artifact to make them useful. I've also gained a Hammer of Purphoros and a Bident of Thassa. The Hammer, I just needed to draw more reliably, and the Bident really helps with card draw.
All of my Phyrexian Revoker were moved to the sideboard, as well as Soul of New Phyrexia. Revoker doesn't really belong mainboard, since I need to see the opposing deck to really make use of them. The souls are sideboard because I added two mainboard Soul of Shandalar. I'm still not certain of this addition, but I'm going to test for a bit and see what happens. Ultimately, I've never really played Soul of New Phyrexia since so much of my deck combos well with Scuttling Doom Engine
I'm not as certain about the sideboard. I've broken my self-imposed rules and added Skullcrack but I'd like to toss them if/when possible. I'm also not certain I need 4x Circle of Flame with an additional 2x Anger of the Gods but they do each serve a good purpose.
Last note for today, I'm considering swapping out the 4x Dissolve for Polymorphist's Jest. I lose the ability to counter non-creatures and I lose a potential four Scry, but with Polymorphist's Jest I can either make Scuttling Doom Engine unblockable for a turn, or I can use it in combination with Anger of the Gods as fantastic board clear, or even Circle of Flame to squash attacks. Problem is, if I need Circle of Flame + Polymorphist's Jest
to survive, I'm probably past the point of winning, since this is an early-focused deck.
