Might I suggest Darksteel Axe and Darksteel Plate ? This way you can be sure to keep these artifacts on the field and if you equip the Darksteel Plate to Puresteel Paladin he'll be indestructible with at least 1 artifact on the field at all times. That's just my opinion at least

make this post-zendikar: Mentor of the Meek and Invisible Stalker will save your day like so:

InvisiBlade

:)

September 6, 2011 5:19 a.m.

haha wow, I had no idea that the Innistrad cards were already available to be linked. After I get some sleep I will come back on here and fix things up :).

I am still going to try and keep it mono-white, and maybe use something like Mentor of the Meek and Elite Inquisitor . But damn, Invisible Stalker seems made for an equipment deck, especially with the mirran swords.

3 Oblivion Ring in the mainboard, 3 Oblivion Ring in the sideboard.

also, think maybe you can include Kemba, Kha Regent ? she needs a deck

December 7, 2011 3:27 p.m.

Thanks for pointing that out XD i'll correct that!

I do agree, she does need a deck. Kemba, Kha Regent does fit very well in this deck, she draws away alot of removal spells from Puresteel Paladin and can have all the equipment transferred to sit on her at the end of your turn, so you sit reel in a bunch of kitties at the beginning of your next turn. She sort of acts as the home/domestic/nurturing/defensive creature while your other manly creatures are out fighting (no kitchen jokes intended). I used to run 3 of her in this deck for quite some time.

Only problem I have, however, is her lack of any abilities that help her as an aggro card. She has no first strike or colour prot. She DOES have 4 toughness which is useful against burn spells, but with Lightning Bolt gone everything seems to be 2 or 4 damage spells these days. She also needs as many equip's dropped on her at the end of your turn as possible to pull her weight in the deck. This means she is your ONLY real defense during your opponent's turn. Your other creatures are likely tapped or suddenly much more disadvantaged to deal with new threats, as they have no equipment spread among them to buff them up.

If you were to put her in, what would you suggest taking out? I had a hard time with this myself, but I think I ultimately subbed her for the pseudo-Kazandu Blademaster , Elite Inquisitor .

I would add in some Mox Opal's and I love Vault Skirge for Puresteel Decks, also I would mainboard Flayer Husk over the accorder shield, or even a 1 of Sylvok Lifestaff

December 7, 2011 4:10 p.m.

What would you recommend subbing the Mox Opal s for? For plains? If so I could probably sub out 2 plains... although that could be some very essential material needed for getting a creature or equipment out if I need that extra land and I don't happen to have metalcraft activated. Not to mention how pricey Mox Opal is :(

The Vault Skirge idea is awesome, but I have no idea what I would sub out for it. Each creature already plays a very unique role in this deck.

I love Flayer Husk in puresteel decks too, but here is my dilemma with him: once his role as a one-time blocker is used up, the card is totally useless unless I have a Glint Hawk to bounce him back to my hand. The +1/+1 for a 2 equip cost is a pretty terrible trade. He does only cost 1cmc but the shield costs 0. And further, the shield gives my other more vulnerable 2 toughness creatures better field position with both health/staying power against removal, as well as vigilance to deter enemy attackers who can't win a fight against them. If you think the 2cmc equip cost is worth it because of puresteel's activated metalcraft ability, then the 3cmc equip for card:Accorder's Shield doesn't matter either.

I'm not too keen about Sylvok Lifestaff because I don't think it pulls its weight with the deck's tempo. I'm not throwing creatures at an opponent and the deck isn't a black suicide deck either, so the rare death with a +3 life gain doesn't sit well with me. I would rather have a card that takes advantage of everyone's first strike/colour prot abilities. This is not to say the lifestaff isn't a good card, it just doesnt seem to fit well here. Unless you believe otherwise! I would love to hear your opinion too

Switch out Stave Off for card:Apostle's Blessing.

December 10, 2011 12:05 p.m.

Considering all your equips are free, I might suggest Moonsilver SpearMTG Card: Moonsilver Spear. Making a 4/4 flier EVERY TURN for four mana is absurd, especially since this deck loves to attack as much as it does. Not to mention that you can equip it to the angels it creates after the first turn it's out and give them first strike as well.

April 20, 2012 12:13 a.m.

Alright man, i'll give it a try. What do you suggest removing for Moonsilver SpearMTG Card: Moonsilver Spear though? It feels pretty air-tight already.. I guess I could take out a Flayer HuskMTG Card: Flayer Husk and drop the creature count to 18.

Sword of War and PeaceMTG Card: Sword of War and Peace > all other equipment in here. Get a BatterskullMTG Card: Batterskull or two, while you're at it.

And when Cavern of SoulsMTG Card: Cavern of Souls comes out in two weeks, you might want one or two for the main-board. Just name "Human" and watch your opponents squirm as they wish they could use Mana LeakMTG Card: Mana Leak on Puresteel PaladinMTG Card: Puresteel Paladin.

April 22, 2012 7:42 p.m.

Thanks for the comments man!

I agree on the Sword of War and PeaceMTG Card: Sword of War and Peace and BatterskullMTG Card: Batterskull completely. To be honest, the only reason I don't have either in here is because of their IRL costs. I play this deck often in casual and at the occasional FNM and try to keep the cards I own reflecting the actual build online. BatterskullMTG Card: Batterskull is a little more within reach now, but Sword of War and PeaceMTG Card: Sword of War and Peace is still devastatingly expensive ($45 where I live). I do plan, however, on obtaining both of them eventually.

Maybe I should just add them in here and use this as an idealized version of my deck. I guess that's true of Silverblade PaladinMTG Card: Silverblade Paladin already lol. What would you suggest taking out?

And full agreement on Cavern of SoulsMTG Card: Cavern of Souls too. I'm ordering 8 copies: 4 for this deck and 4 for my knights tribal. What's kind of funny is how well it works for creatures in this deck too: non-human creatures can only work with colourless mana anyways.

You don't want to buy a War and Peace, but you're ordering 8 Cavern of SoulsMTG Card: Cavern of Souls? Isn't Cavern of Souls, like, $20 a piece?

Why not just buy 4 Caverns, switch them between your decks as needed (since you'll never be playing both at once) and buy two War and Peace?

April 22, 2012 8:08 p.m.

Oh wow, I didn't realize it was that pricey.. I thought it would be around the $6- $10 mark. Well, in that case, definitely a limit of 4, and switching as needed. The cost of Sword of War and PeaceMTG Card: Sword of War and Peace still is tough, but i'll do my best to make the investment. I'll add them to the deck for now.

How about, for a win condition, using Wolfhunter's QuiverMTG Card: Wolfhunter's Quiver for a lot of ping-ing? I used to use Heavy ArbalestMTG Card: Heavy Arbalest, but my deck was more tailored for that kind of thing.

April 22, 2012 8:30 p.m.

I considered Wolfhunter's QuiverMTG Card: Wolfhunter's Quiver at first but the reason I dont have it is because I'm not running very many creatures, and the ones I do have out I want to be able to swing with. The ones that survive I need to be able to switch all the equipment back onto after one (or more) taps to attack. Also, the 1 damage is limited to creatures with 1 toughness (aside from the rare werewolf).

Wolfhunter's QuiverMTG Card: Wolfhunter's Quiver would be much more effective with something like Kemba, Kha RegentMTG Card: Kemba, Kha Regent who can produce lots of tokens each turn and enjoy the free equip of Puresteel PaladinMTG Card: Puresteel Paladin, but i'm not running her in this deck except for sideboard purposes.

My other reason is that it literally relies on having Puresteel PaladinMTG Card: Puresteel Paladin out. If he gets bolted/killed/beat down, then this card is extremely difficult to use for a 5 mana equip cost for 1 damage.

I do appreciate your suggestion though, thanks!! :)
