My first take at Oathbreaker. I wanted to do something B/W and I realized that it would be perfect to do a reanimator deck. I think this is a good idea but I would love any advice!

Reanimators

• Animate Dead : Good cheap reanimator. Nothing special about it other than it give the -1/-0 so make sure you place it on a non beater if at all possible

• Bruna, the Fading Light : There are a fair amount of angels for Bruna to bring back if you CAST her. So if you have the ramp capable of doing so you can place Gisela, the Broken Blade in the grave and make Brisela, Voice of Nightmares

• Dance of the Dead : Same as Animate Dead . Pumps up a beater but cost 2 to untap the creature its on. I prefer to place it on things that aren't really here to hit like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Blazing Archon

• Entreat the Dead : Good mass revival. Can combo really nice with Buried Alive if you can make the 6 mana the next turn.

• Exhume : Honestly the weakest of the reanimators in the deck, which is why its the signature spell, so you don't have to draw a weaker card and can still find it if all else fails.

• Karmic Guide : Can be cast regularly or can be reanimated to bring a friend along

• Necromancy : 3 cost Animate Dead with no upside/downside to it.

• Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord : Can reanimate a 4 cost at the start. the +2 a turn can eventually grab you something if properly guarded.

• Reanimate : THE BEST REANIMATOR IN THE DECK. Some situations where you can turn 1 something bonkers like Iona, Shield of Emeria with a Putrid Imp and Dark Ritual .

• Stitch Together : Dredge + Threshold = pretty good.

• Sun Titan : Technically can bring back Animate Dead , Dance of the Dead or Necromancy if they are in the grave.

• Unburial Rites : Classic Reanimator. Something you can toss when dredgeing and still bring back later with the flashback.

Targets

• Ashen Rider : Blow up lands, planeswalkers, creatures... basically whatever is bugging you at that point in the game. Animate Dead , Dance of the Dead and Necromancy combo with the leaving the battlefield effect as an added bonus.

• Blazing Archon : More of an anti-zoo reanimation target. Turns out having your opponents not being able to attack you keeps you alive longer, who knew?

• Bruna, the Fading Light : Works pretty well with the number of angels in the deck. Obvious target if you can get/ already have Gisela, the Broken Blade on the field.

• Chancellor of the Annex : Great suppression for those decks that want to try and combo off on you. And if you can sometimes get it in your starting hand you are basically gaining a turn on all your opponents.

• Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite : More anti-zoo and token. Can also be a good finisher if you already have some creatures on the field.

• Gisela, the Broken Blade : Fairly weak on her own but a 4 cost beater with first strike and lifelink is nothing to turn your nose to. Also combos with Bruna, the Fading Light for the meld.

• Iona, Shield of Emeria : The hardest of locks in the deck. Mono colored Oathbreakers stand no chance.

• Karmic Guide : If you have this and another one of these targets in the grave you might as well target this with the initial reanimator and then pick the other creature with the ability of Karmic Guide

• Obzedat, Ghost Council : Healthy body, decent cost, leeches from opponents, leaves against heavy removal decks if need be. What else could you ask for?

• Sun Titan : Another 2 for 1 if you have one of the animate enchantments in the grave.

• Wurmcoil Engine : Another beater that splinters off if removed. Also kinda combos with the downside of Animate Dead , Dance of the Dead and Necromancy so you really don't care if the enchantment gets removed.

Grave Feeders

• Buried Alive : Fish for your silver bullet creates and combo with something like Reanimate or Entreat the Dead

• Dakmor Salvage : Dredge

• Darkblast : Dredge

• Entomb : Probably your best grave feeder due to the one mana cost. Combo with Dark Ritual , any creature you want (Probably Iona, Sheild of Emeria! or Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite depending on the match ups) and Reanimate for a turn one blowout.

• Golgari Thug : Dredge

• Putrid Imp : Good combo with a creature and Reanimate in hand

• Stinkweed Imp : Dredge

• Stitcher's Supplier : Pseudo dredge

• Liliana, the Last Hope : Pseudo dredge
