Record: 2 - 3 - 0
Pulled an audible the morning of the PTQ and switched out an Unflinching Courage and a Ray of Revelation from my sideboard to move my Abrupt Decay to the sideboard and in its place put in Ready / Willing. I got to use it twice throughout the day and both times it felt good. I think the card should be used by more decks.
Round 1
Me (1) - USA Control (2)
Won game 1, game 2 had to Mulligan down to 5, game 3, I flooded out in mana. The force was not strong with me. Something I found odd about this opponent was that he was running Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius instead of AEtherling.
Round 2
Me (0) - Jund (2)
Game one was pretty much a blow out, my opponent got everything he needed. Game two was much closer but in the end a miracle Bonfire of the Damned cleared my board for the win.
Round 3
Me (2) - BUG Urban Evolution (0)
Game one my opponent couldn't draw into anything that really represented a threat. Game 2, I boarded in Appetite for Brains and drew it in my opening hand. Turn 2 I used it and found an nonthreatening hand except a Thragtusk which proceeded to get exiled.
Round 4
Me (2) - Jund (1)
I won game one, my opponent won game 2, and I won game 3. All 3 games were extremely close and a back and forth battles. This was by far the most enjoyable round of the day as I had an awesome opponent to talk to and 3 amazing games of serious concentration and decision making.
Round 5
Me (0) - Junk Reanimator (2)
Game one was a close battle but when I lost I guess I just kind of gave up. I boarded in all my graveyard hate for game 2 and forgot to use Deathrite Shaman multiple times with open mana. I also forgot the trigger on Voice of Resurgence twice and due to my inexperience in sanctioned events, I didn't call a judge over to rule the tokens into play which me and my opponent both agreed would have changed the outcome of game 2. Down 3 games, I dropped out.
