Killkow Thanks for the +1 and suggestions! I am of two minds concerning Mindslaver. My playgroup generally finds it to be in bad form, and there have been a few instances where it's use lead to resentment etc... Or that's my take on it at least.

That being said, it is a great way to have control, without the permissions of a counterspell... I will give it some thought.

On that note, does anyone have any thoughts of my last of Counter magic? On the one hand, I feel like it might be good to have, on the other, I fear that it would require too many slots to be effective and I fear it might water down the deck. Is it enough to have a ton of oppressive effects piled on top of each other, so that I don't need to play permission spells?

I understand completely. It's no fun to lose to infinite slaver and a 2 card combo. But then again, this isn't a deck for fun, OR fairness, is it? ;)

As far as counter magic goes, I think it would be a good idea to run a few just so your opponent's less likely to get there with an Akroma's Vengeance, Nevinyrral's Disk, or similar effect.

If they can mass wipe your stax, it's pretty rough for you at that point, Even with 8 board wipes.

Hey Ender666666, finally getting to comment on the deck. This looks like absolutely no fun to play against, I like it! I should say, I like builds like this for the challenge they present to play against, but I'm guessing not everyone views it that way.

Got to say, I'm with Killkow on the counter magic. You should always have a few cheap counters handy, just in case. Also, no Cursed Totem or Hushwing Gryff?

All I think of looking at this deck is it should be called "Team Oloro, World Police" :)

Thanks everyone for the comments and compliments. Today I added Mana Web, Pendrell Mists & Homeward Path, removing Stone Calendar, Propaganda & Council's Judgment.

I played two matches and won both. I was very satisfied with the results overall, and felt like the deck was much more purposeful, aggressive and resilient. Standout stars were Mana Web, Tezzeret the Seeker & Karn Liberated.

Hmmm. This deck looks pretty solid. with all those artifacts and enchantments I'm curious why you're not running Fabricate and Idyllic Tutor. Hannah, Ship's Navigator seems like she might have a place here. You're running Elesh in a stax deck which is good but why no Godhead of Awe? This ain't something I normally throw into a stax build but it adds a little chaos to the mixture Puca's Mischief and Gilded Drake could be fun additions

Hey Deckology, thanks for the input. It's funny you suggest Hanna, Ship's Navigator because a beautiful Judge Foil one was taunting me recently from my LGS's case. I am giving her serious consideration, and I suppose that the only reason I haven't used her yet is that I play a strategy that is pretty unfriendly to creatures in general. That said, her ability is very relevant and I am likely going to add her.

Regarding Fabricate and Idyllic Tutor, these are also cards that I have thought about adding, but due to space constraints, I opted for Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor and Enlightened Tutor for their broader utility, and for Planar Portal for it's reusable searching.

I hadn't considered Godhead of Awe because i just had never seen it before.. It's worth consideration.

Puca's Mischief is cute, but I can't see letting an element of chaos into this particular deck... The coin flip from Mana Crypt is about all the chaos I can take, lol. Gilded Drake is certainly good, but I'm not sure that it's better than anything else I have in here...

And that brings us to the largest problem I am now facing... I have all these great suggestions, but don't know what I would cut to add them. So starting with Hanna, Ship's Navigator, what would you cut in order to make room to add her?

@Deckology Bah! That's a cop out if I ever heard one! ;) Thanks for the input.

Fine fine fine lol. I would cut coalition relic for her. I used to swear by my coalition relic but a buddy of mine switched it out for a basic land and I had no idea and never had mana issues.

Cards I would remove: Mana Web, Mindlock Orb, Worn Powerstone, Lodestone Golem, Aura of Silence and No Mercy.

I suggest you look at this deck: I Protect the World, the World Protects My So copy. It is a mono-white artifact lock deck with two infinite combos as the win condition. It is practically complete, as nothing else really can go in it. It is a copy of my first attempt with Nahiri, the Lithomancer.

Femme_Fatale thanks for the input. I gotta ask why you feel I should remove so many things? Is there something else you think I should have in, instead?

I took a look at your deck, and it looks very solid, although I am not a fan of Infinite Combos in this deck and have opted to exclude them.

You have far too many non-artifacts to make Lodestone Golem worth while, and in general, things that increase mana don't do very well (Thorn of Amethyst and Sphere of Resistance should thus go to). Grand Abolisher, Hive Mind and Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir would work much better. Also, Mana Web doesn't work in tangent with orb effects as they are just going to be tapping all the lands anyways. In playtests that I've found, anything that can hinder your mana base with the orb effects is a no-go, and you definitely need something to untap your stuff. Sword of Feast and Famine, Unwinding Clock and Clock of Omens are all good choices considering you aren't running green.

Smokestack requires being able to have some sort of reanimation or token producer. I see a total of 4, with 1 of them being conditional and the other 2 really slowing your advance down. You'd need at least 7 to make it work effectively, and as since you have wraths, they aren't really necessary. Cards that work better are The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale and Magus of the Tabernacle.

You need stuff to protect your stuff. Avacyn, Angel of Hope is nice, but I suggest more. Leonin Arbiter, Fountain Watch, Cloud Cover, Darksteel Forge and Mycosynth Lattice are all powerful in this regard. Finally, you need to protect yourself from infinite combos. True Believer, Aegis of the Gods, Leyline of Sanctity and Solitary Confinement all come to mind.

As for other locks, Portcullis, Silent Arbiter, Moat, Magus of the Moat, Island Sanctuary, the other lock angels, Rising Waters, Peacekeeper, Overburden and Crawlspace work much better than things like Kismet and Blind Obedience. No Mercy is bad because you don't want them hitting you in the first place. Mindlock Orb also hurts you as you have a fair portion of tutors. Aven Mindcensor would do better in this regard.

Wondering where Plea for Guidance, Scroll Rack, Weathered Wayfarer, Twilight Shepherd and Consecrated Sphinx are. These are powerful utility cards that I enjoy using.

I completely forgot about Twilight Shepherd good call on that one. If you do decide to run Hive Mind adding Pact of Negation can easily deal with players that are not using blue. Also Master Transmuter might be useful in this deck. It allows you to either blink an artifact or cheat out an artifact you know will get countered or has a high mana cost

I have never played a deck like this, and only rarely come across it (Senn Triplets are kind of big in my meta, but not huge).

With all the lifegain you have, have you considered Felidar Sovereign?

February 21, 2015 12:41 a.m.

Ender666666 says... #19

Hi SquishyPanda, yes, at a couple points I have had both Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance in the deck, but have opted to go without because I didn't want to take the "cheap" way out. My aim is to win.. Soundly, Fairly, and Painfully.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has commented and upvoted this deck. It's almost at 10000 views, and hit #16 today in the rankings, which is pretty awesome! Without all of the ideas (used or unused) and feedback, I don't think that this would be where it is today. Please keep it coming! Your help is appreciated ;)

You are more likely to go up in rankings with comments then you are with upvotes.

Femme_Fatale Good to know, because I didn't know that.

quesobueno123 I've thought about it but also like the idea of being able to reference back to be able to see what's been suggested and to look back at the development of the list over time.

Is there a way to archive old comments before paring down the older comments?
