The following is a head cannon based solely on the artwork of the general:

Birth and Death, harmonious as they are opposites, dictate the life cycle of any living creature. But what occurs after death? Is it just darkness eternal? Or is there something beyond the last breath of air? A limbo of sorts. A place where one chooses his or her fate. Herein this aforementioned limbo lies the gatekeeper Atraxa surrounded by complete darkness. The fated soul has two choices: Return whence it came, reincarnated to repeat the cycle of war or ascend to the heavens above. When the choice is made the Angel Horror speaks, as its mouth begins to move, the sound of silence echoes throughout- calming yet haunting- and the soul is casted out...

This is my take on Atraxa focused more on the idea of death and reincarnation. Manipulate your board to cause crippling damage to your opponents. As each turn passes your forces will become more powerful while your opponents' board state weakens.
