After some extensive playtesting and serious wins, I'm removing the 2x Manalith and putting in 2x Foul-Tongue Shriek.

Foul-Tongue Shriek + Swarm Surge is unbelievably brutal in this deck, and can easily win the game for .

I'm feeling that, while not winning you the game immediately, you could run Keep Watch to draw you ten cards for three mana. It would get you all of the game finishers that you need. Also, maybe you could run Respite instead of Fog in the sideboard. It could help a lot better against decks that try to overwhelm you with creatures and you can't just chump all of them. Just a side note, I love the new description. Personally much better that the last one.

Also, Betrothed of Fire could really help as pretty much a Swarm Surge for one less mana. Plagued Rusalka could be reusable removal. And you could ramp up really fast with Ashnod's Altar. Finally, Thorn-Thrash Viashino could just kill the opponent really quickly by sacrificing, like, 8 or 9 spawns and next tuen attacking with trample for the win.

Hopefully the Slivers don't get jealous. (wink wink, nudge nudge)

Keep Watch + Rites of Initiation is a good way to start in this pauper monster.

Keep the deck only in RUG colors and remove weak cards like hand of emrakul, essence feed and spawning breath, impact tremors (which can be substituted with Raid Bombardment), all other black cards.

Make more tokens, even if they are non-eldrazi tokens - Mogg War Marshal and Scatter the Seeds are mandatory.

Boza, I like the Keep Watch + Rites of Initiation combo, I'll have to play that through a few times to get an idea of how well it works.

I've been playing this through quite a bit, and against a variety of decks, and don't find Hand of Emrakul to be a weak card at all, since I'm not betting on it to win, it makes a nasty surprise when I cast him for free (sometimes very early.) Spawning Breath gives me a nice instant removal or a quick bit of damage, while giving me an early game Spawn token. (useful to trigger the better version of Brood Birthing.

Raid Bombardment and Impact Tremors have been fighting each other in this deck for some time. Eventually Impact Tremors won due to a few facts:

1.) It does the damage as I cast the creatures, so I don't worry about them getting wiped while they're suffering from summoning sickness.
2.) Raid Bombardment was seeing too many of my Spawn dying, since they're a 0/1, any creature ever can block and kill them, ruining my other plans.
3.) Impact Tremors lets me keep my Spawn available for blocking.

And as for putting non-Eldrazi token generators, they just don't fit the theme of the deck, which is essential to me, and one of the reasons I like playing this deck.

I will have to try that Keep Watch and Rites of Initiation combo though, it sounds promising.

Thanks for the feedback!

I love the deck idea! I wanted to make a token-like deck but don't really like Selesnya decks.

My playgroup is making Peasant decks (same thing as pauper but with 5 total uncommons between the deck and side) can you recommend me some uncommons that I could swap in and for what cards?

Panzerforge says... #8

celsha this sounds like the deck for you!

To make it Peasant (and I actually run it this way sometimes) remove the two Essence Feed and replace them with two Broodwarden, and remove one Growth Spasm and replace it with a Rapacious One. These two cards give a MASSIVE kick to the deck.

Hope this helps, and best of luck!

Do you think that running 2 Eldrazi Temple by cutting 2 Crumbling Vestige is a good use of the other 2 uncommons?

Panzerforge says... #10

I wouldn't change the lands, celsha. These Eldrazi are not colorless, so that land would only slow you down.

Crumbling Vestige is a key component of this tri-color deck.

celsha, if you're going to replace something else, maybe look for a replacement for Outnumber or Bone Splinters, though those have both proven to be effective removals for me.

Hey, amanarpl!!!

After playtesting and being annoyed with 1/1's that required me to sacrifice a spawn to kill them with Bone Splinters, I have revised my argument against Tragic Slip.

That being said... I give you... MY Tragic Slip!!!

Hey Panzerforge there i hope you dont mind but i think i want to try your pauper list even though i hate netdecking. Atm im trying to get heroic going but your deck looks awesome and if you are fine with it i would give it a go. Of course giving you the credit if anybody asks. I am trying to get pauper tournaments going in munich and new decks are always great to see in this format.

No problem, Arthsi!
Let me know how it plays out for you. I really like Pauper as a format, and this is one of my favorite decks.
I've found that Pauper is a great way to introduce people to the game, so I wish you luck getting a tournament going!
Thank you for the +1!

Hey Panzerforge it is me again and i have some questions.

Like i already said i tried your deck and it is really fun to play. After some games i went with blue for black and have to say Keep Watch Distant Melody Rites of Initiation is really brutal and a turn 4 kill is just awesome in pauper.

Now is there a reason why you play Chandra's Fury over Electrickery cause stuff like elves infect goblins can be really hard to handle and a fog mostly isnt enough to stop them (maybe the flashback version?) and getting 5 mana could be to late. I have cut black like i said and i dont know if i need more removal mainboard cause playing just 2 Outnumber is not that much but worst case szenario i just have to block with pawn tokens(will keep you up to date if you want). I would play Reaping the Graves cause single black is way easier to produce and storm makes this spell a bomb mostly it will bring you just 1-2 creatures but this should be enough i guess. I also wanna try Ghostly Flicker mainboard with Izzet Chronarch as a 1 of just to be able to always flicker creatures for more etbs and stuff.

Last but not least you said what to sideboard against some decks and i got the idea behind it but what to cut? This makes me go crazy cause i mostly cant decide...

Thanks again for making this awesome deck and i would give it another +1 if i could.

Hey, Arthsi, thanks for the update!

I'm glad you're having success with a version of this, but I like my cards far too much to give them up.

The Swarm Surge + Foul-Tongue Shriek combo is absurdly fun, and Tragic Slip is such a potent removal, I would miss them too much. Even the late-game fun of Essence Feed has won me a few games.

As for Chandra's Fury, I opted for it over Electrickery thanks to the 4 damage that it also inflicts. Against a token creating deck, I don't want to just hit all their 1/1's, I want to also do some damage to the player at the same. Chandra's Fury does that really well.

You should change the flavor text for the alt art Tragic Slip from "Linger on death's door and risk being invited in" To "Linger on the poolside and risk being pulled in"

July 9, 2016 11:18 p.m.

Also, a great alt art for Unknown Shores could be a bunch of spawn crowded around a pool, looking confused, and one or two dipping their toes in.

I agree and only want to add:

maybe you dont want to cut black anf i do understand that BUT 1 Island as your pool has to be in this deck. Cause with that many spawns you are gonna have a crowded as f*#$ (japanese style) pool way to fast. Another big plus are the new invitations you get to invite as many friends as you want with Keep Watch Distant Melody and ofc your own Ancestral Recall oh wait sorry i mean Shared Discovery. Oh and btw my little friends sometimes had the problem of not finding the right place to party ( colour screwed ) but since this deck has really few cmc 1 spells (to cast turn 1) Evolving Wilds can get your party going no matter what.

DragonFaceEater I like the idea of a Spawn dipping a tentacle into the Unknown Shore, that would be a quick thing to paint.

Altering the text on Tragic Slip though? My painting skills aren't at free-hand font level yet...
