The aim of this deck is to basically shut your opponents down with Erayo, Soratami Ascendant , and Ethersworn Canonist . This can essentially be done by turn 3. In order to flip Erayo, Soratami Ascendant as soon as possible by playing 4 spells in a single turn, the deck has several 0-mana spells like Ornithopter , Memnite , Welding Jar , Darksteel Relic , etc. I removed the spectrum of 0-mana land-artifacts like
Mox Pearl
,
Mox Ruby
,
Mox Sapphire
, and Mox Opal to make it modern legal (these also increased the price of the deck to ridiculous and hilarious levels) . Put in Paradise Mantle as a 0-mana spell that can also be a source of mana. Whispersilk Cloak for Master of Etherium to be an unblockable beater, and Ensoul Artifact to make Darksteel Relic an indestructible 5/5, or give a little boost to Ornithopter and Memnite . And then there's
Indomitable Archangel
to give my artifacts shroud. Anyway, just something I threw together to see if it would work. I could use some advice for sure. All comments and suggestions and +1s are welcome. Peace and Light...
Main combo: Erayo, Soratami Ascendant
+
Ethersworn Canonist
This combo counters their first spell each turn with Erayo, Soratami Ascendant, and if it wasn't an artifact then Ethersworn Canonist locks them down from casting any additional nonartifact spells.
Ideal opening hand would include Ethersworn Canonist and Erayo, Soratami Ascendant , along with 1
Plains
, 1 Island , and 3 zero-mana artifact spells.
Turn 1: Island
Turn 2:
Plains
, Erayo, Soratami Ascendant .
Turn 3: Ethersworn Canonist , Ornithopter , Darksteel Relic , Paradise Mantle . At this point your opponents should basically be shut down; first spell countered, no additional spells allowed, unless their first spell of the turn is an artifact spell.
After this, it's just a matter of getting some Etched Champion (protection from all colors!), Master of Etherium / Whispersilk Cloak (can get pretty beefed up with all the artifacts in play, and then become unblockable with the cloak) action out there to chip away at your opponents.
Comments and Suggestions for a sideboard would be great, as well as all the +1s.
