Spelltwine the Infinite

Standard*

rikshawhoward

This is my attempt at running Enter the Infinite in standard. I know ramping to twelve mana is possible, but since I don't have shocklands in any of those colors (nor the money to get them) I'm using Spelltwine to cheat it into play. These two cards are searched out with Izzet Charm, Faithless Looting, Augur of Bolas , and Forbidden Alchemy. Rakdos Keyrune provides a little but of ramp and effectively blocks most things on the ground. 3 copies of Searing Spear and a couple Mizzium Mortars also stop early aggro. Izzet charm can also be used in this way if needed. Duress pulls double duty, putting an instant or sorcery in their yard and potentially stopping any counter magic.

By turn 5 or 6 you should be able to cast Spelltwine hitting Enter the Infinite. Draw your whole deck and pass the turn. Next turn cast the one copy of Laboratory Maniac and then cast an Izzet Charm or Faithless Looting for the win.

I plan on testing this at FNM either this week or next and I'll update with results.
