I havent played magic for a few years and came to update my Sphinx deck... to find out.... no more Mox Opal :(

I Have always wanted a Sphinx deck that felt flexible and had multiple ways to be used, could hold out during longer games, and was still somewhat competitive.. please let me know what you guys think about this build now that the Mox Opal is banned in modern. Thanks!

The idea here is to use Affinity concepts, a ton of zero drops, Etherium Sculptor and Paradise Mantle to rush out Master Transmuter, then get a big Sphinx and a Cranial Plating out as quick as possible.

Lightning Greaves and Welding Jar are important here because this deck is not an all out affinity deck.. its a little slower than that which makes it more fun for me. Get a bunch of flyers out and stay alive until the combo sticks.

Sphinx Summoner is here to fetch any of the big guys during mid game.

If things start to go terribly wrong I could fetch Filigree Angel to save the day, or Sharuum the Hegemon for revival. Also Stoic Rebuttal for some control.

If Master Transmuter fails, there is always the hope of Cranial Plating on a smaller creature, and then a Galvanic Blast for the finishing kill. Tempted to run a full set of each.

Filigree Angel is here to save the day if need be. As is Stoic Rebuttal

Galvanic Blast seems like it would always be helpful keeping things at bay or directing a little extra damage for the kill.
