@shawning, i love this deck, i really do. But i think Tempered Steel is not so effective here... Phantasmal Image ? A removal like Dispatch or a counter? Or even better, as you play with tokens Intangible Virtue ..

okay. so, after much testing with this deck, WAY too many times did i not have the one forest i'd need to drop my first turn mana producer. i'm not sure if its just my crap luck, or what, but i feel like you have too much white. you only have one card that requires two of any color, and you have 8 green mana requiring creatures that you REALLY want to have out on turn one. the overall number of lands seems smooth, and most of the time it all work okay, but more than i like i had to mulligan down to 5 just to get a decent starting hand. just consider this.

second, any particular reason why you have TWO Blightsteel Colossus es? i feel like 1 would do, and the second only increases your chances of starting a game with one in hand. this would leave a spot open for any number of cards, or maybe another land. Inkmoth Nexus would be neat in here, as it becomes an artifact, getting supported by tempered steel if the o-ring you colossus and wipe your board, or supports your shape anew if you can't manage to keep an artifact on the board.

despite all of that ranting, i LOVE the deck, just trying to help. +1 all day man!

@bamarter If you are having trouble with mana why would you put in more colorless mana?? Also the Tempered Steel is here because the deck doesn't NEED the Blightsteel Colossus (which there are two of in case you draw one or are forced to start with one) to win which is what makes it so good.

and Tempered Steel over Intangible Virtue because it puts another threat on the board. Tempered Steel is scary.

I was only offering Inkmoth Nexus as a choice not because of the mana issue, but because it never hurts to have an extra win con. With Tempered Steel already in here, I feel like it's not much of a stretch to throw in one, maybe two inkmoths, maybe even from sideboard for game 2 as a surprise, to solidify board threats. The issue of color pie and my suggestion of inkmoth were intended as two separate comments.

@shawning If you basically use the counters just to not be countered then why not just use Negate over the Stoic Rebuttal ? With only 8 Blue mana and 4 creatures to possibly make it, will you be able to consistently get the double blue to do otherwise? And assuming you're trying to counter a counter targeting one of your blue spells that is 3 blue sources you would need. I also think that if you're to want the Vigilance then you should just add 2-3 Intangible Virtue and 0-1 control card to the SB rather than the Sensor Splicer to keep the curve down and it is a more permanent Vigilant/+1,+1 (not that you need to remove the Tempered Steel to SB them in either lol). Well those are just a few suggestions/questions from me... I just started playing in FEB of this year so I'm still learning the deeper ins and outs of the deck building process. :P

And I thought my deck was pretty quick with the Blightsteel Colossus turn 4 or 5...plus 1 for sure...my only possible idea would be Precursor Golem , and that would just get in blightsteel]]'s way. Check out my deck if you like, also includes Blightsteel Colossus but is much more focused on infect.

I just wanted to let everyone know I'm on vacation. I will try to get to all of my responses when I get back in a week! Thank you SO much for all of your support! I didn't expect this deck to be so popular especially considering I arrived at FNM 20 minutes until it started without a deck and this is what I threw together for that night :)

I've tried many top tappedout decks to test mines and yours might be my favorite. I'm just surprised to see that it's so straight to the point and still works beautifully. Your deck doesn't seems to be trying to deal with what your opponent is trowing at you but instead is just trying to overwhelm the other player with what you are throwing at him. And that's pretty cool since it's working. You make me re-think and re-simplify the way I make decks, thanks.

I have a deck almost just like this, the but without the tempered steal, I even use the Blightsteel Colossus and Shape Anew combo. the only problem is everbody at my FNM uses Oblivion Ring and Ratchet Bomb . with my deck i usualy go about 2-2 or if im lucky 3-1.

This deck needs Inkmoth Nexus . Sack it to the Shape Anew

I find that I need to mulligan often because I dont get a forest nearly enough. I would put 8 forests in and only 3 island / 3 plains.

+1 from me, but Doomed Traveler seems useless. Every time I playtested this, it's been a dead draw. Perhaps some Smite the Monstrous would help, or some control cards such as that.

Hey there, someone just let me know they think my deck SplicePod was half copied from yours and i responded it was merely inspired by it, but that my list differs quite a bit and pointed out what i thought missed in your deck. Then i thought i might as well post that on here so it might help you.

"This deck is derived from a couple other lists on this site, amongst them is Splicing Insanity. That deck, however many votes it's got, i feel is significantly worse than what you see above. The major difference is Birthing Pod. Splicers are borderline playable as is, but if you don't add the pod to maximize value from them, i feel you shouldn't play them at all.

Also, if you actually compare the lists instead of just the colorwheel, you will find our decks are very different in EVERYTHING, except for 4 Birds of Paradise, which every 3-color deck with green should, 4 Blade Splicers, which are just awesome regardless of the deck they're in (and even better in decks like these), 1 Wing Splicer and 1 Vital Splicer . that is basically where the comparison stops.

I can imagine the name may have thrown you off, but at least look over the lists next time ;). Also i very much disagree with his blightsteel colossus plan, which is fun, but not very consistent, and it leads him to play cards like Master's Call and Shape Anew as 4-ofs, which i think is bad. Also - Tempered steel in that deck?"

This is just a copy of my post, let me know what you think, it's purely meant as constructed criticism btw! And if you have time, look over my list if you like :)

And a +1 for inspiring me :)

I really like your deck, i like it so much that ill spend near 100 bucks to get it :)

I started to play Magic not long ago with a bunch of friends, some of them started at the same time as me, and some others long time ago, and they have many pro decks, so your deck will help me teach them a lesson ;)

Here my two other decks i made, without any advice/help, so if you can help me get these better i would really apreciate it! remember that these will be my casual decks to play with my less experimented friends like me

deck:blue-unblockable-equip - This one is my 1v1 deck (i want the Sword of Feast and Famine instead of the Sword of Body and Mind but i cost 35$++ so... maybe one day lol)

deck:morbid-bg - And this one is for FFA (usually 4 5 or 6 players)

Thanks alot for your deck, and i hope you can give me some advice for mines!

Finally back from vacation! Thanks for your support on this deck everyone! I will be providing feedback or +1s to those that have posted in my absence throughout the day but I wanted to get some replies in first.

@jokercrow Yea that was kind of why I put it together. I was starting to get sick of trying to "outthink" my opponent. I wanted something that was straight forward and easy to play so you could actually enjoy the game as opposed to be thinking so hard you forget that it's supposed to be fun...some people like that but I'm a simple man!

@Ymer, Dynasterz, rjg110 thanks guys! :) Will check out your decks today!

@Lololo807 I love having the Doomed Traveler in this deck especially versus RDW. Honestly it is a meta-dependent card. If you don't play a lot of aggro change it for the Oblivion Ring s and land. It's basically 2 blockers for 1 mana and you simply can't beat that!

@Fatum That is a great point! I have never run into that! However, I'd like to think my sideboard would help...but I may need to up my Revoke Existence in light of Torpor Orb . Thank you for your feedback! You can't really defend against everything so sometimes you have game 1's that are just off :/

@chowline Yea that's why I don't rely on the Blightsteel Colossus the deck wins without him...which is why I like to play it :)

@JaminDRS I don't like Inkmoth Nexus in this deck. Mana is tight as it is and I can't usually afford drawing a colorless land.

@Shrodinger I don't know if I'd like to make that large of a shift in the lands of this deck though I do agree it can be a little odd at times. I have playtested this deck A LOT though and typically it comes out more often than not for me. If you adjust it with better luck report back I'd like to know!

@marto Mana Leak is overrated in my opinion. If I know someone is playing them I just play slower (they usually end up discarding because I'm NOT playing cards which is funny) but the Oblivion Ring does mess with this deck though not much because usually they save it for Blightsteel Colossus .

@cartercr I disagree but I like Doomed Traveler to block two turns for 1 mana. Also I don't want to add another 4 CMC card into the deck because there is so much other better turn 4 drops. Usually I don't have issues with the size of my opponent's creatures anyway.

@jessetaverne I don't think the two decks are anything alike lol. Glad I could offer some inspiration, but I don't know what everyone was talking about it being the same :) Even if it is...so what? Collaboration is the name of the game on TO in my opinion!

Thanks everyone! :)
