Ummm Dig Through Time is banned. As well as Treasure Cruise. You need to take those out Thought Scour, and put in something that actually helps you find your combo pieces, such as Sleight of Hand, it just help you dig deeper into the deck and you do not run the risk of milling your twin. Spell Pierce is an amazing combo protector. Also, consider splashing black for Spoils of the Vault. I feel like that would be a really efficient tutor. Also, all in twin is by no means the best modern deck, at least pre-banning of cruise, dig, and pod. But I guess we will see! +1

Yes thank you, I know dig through time is banned, I have been busy and still am. I will edit the deck as soon as possible and I will think about spoils of the vault.

I would guess it's for the SB to flashback Ancient Grudge.

Hey man, I don't know what to suggest because the list looks pretty good! How are you enjoying the main deck Grim Lavamancer? I don't know if Twin players are doing that now or if that's more your idea.

Eretoryi I have her in there as sort of a removal card and if I can't cast my combo then I can try to deal some damage to the player

I figured it was more like a burn-style backup plan, yeah. It looks like a good idea!

I playtested this with the UWR control deck I'm planning to take to GP Vegas, and you smashed me! You won 2-1, but the game you lost was because you couldn't deal with Keranos. Perhaps think about some answers for that? I hear his popularity is rising among control players

BobTheavgJoe says... #12

Yes Keranos, God of Storms is tough to get rid of. The only on color answer that I could find is Reality Shift, but that only works if he is a creature, which is pretty much never. Once he lands it's really hard to deal with him. Luckily at five mana he is a really late game threat, so probably your best bet is to just hold up some mana and counter him.

@Whykurt yes Keranos, God of Storms is a very hard card to deal with, my only answer to him in the deck is Cryptic Command he is usually going to be between a turn 5-7 play so hopefully I either get to combo off before he hits or I can counter him by then with Cryptic Command, I could also flashback cryptic command with Snapcaster Mage but that requires quite a bit off mana. I can also hold him off with remand but he will most likely get played the next turn.

It's basically what BobTheavgJoe said, combo off or hopefully counter him

This looks exactly where you want to be with Splinter Twin in the current meta (with heavy use of Lingering Souls, etc.). Great list!

Excuse me, but how can you say that this is the best Twin deck on the website? I know I'm mean while doing that kind of things, but that's not true in terms of upvotes, views, budget, or even competitivity (even if you're showing great results at your FNM).

Anyway, that's always a nice version to see, but I would put in some Mana Leak since you basically want your opponent to be tapped out to go off. In that way, it might be even a bit superior to Remand's draw power. In sideboard I would suggest also to take out Jace, because I believe you want to play him against aggro decks but by the 4th turn, or you can go wombo combo or you're dead in this specific match-up. So, Jace's kinda useless here, better change him to some Anger of the Gods or Pyroclasm. Keranos is a funny sideboard choice, but against control he seems fine to me. I would also cut both Sower of Temptation for some Counterflux, kinda better against control (which should be a hard match-up for you) or even against storm combo (counter ALL spells, eheheheh).

Also, I forgot: why do you play Thought Scour? You don't play any delve spell, and mill two cards off your opponent during a game looks kinda useless, if you want instand speed cantrip then just go for Peek. It would be like far better against every match-up.

elpokitolama first off, this actually is the best one on the site (in terms of upvotes), second remands are powerful, they set my opponents behind a turn plus I need the draw mechanic to get my combo. Jace is a great card against the white weenies since it gives their 1/1s -1/-0 he also can get me draw mechanic for my combo (he is great) if I can get to his ultimate that is also probably gg, Sower of Temptation is an insane card, it's awesome against tron or decks like Anzac midrange that I know I will have a hard time combo-ing off against, Thought Scour is so that I can dig deeper into my deck so that I get my combo faster and throws some cards in my graveyard for my Snapcaster Mages to use.

I can tell you don't play splinter twin at all so I am interested in what kind of deck you play so that I can better understand your view point

Lol never mind about the upvote thing, it looks like people have caught up to me. Thanks for pointing that out

I do play a temur version of splinter twin (on Untap.in), but kinda more aggro. Sure Remand is great, But I do prefer Mana Leak due to its ability to force my opponent to tap out, just to protect the combo. My meta might have might run way more removal/counterspells than yours, and it might be why our views differ on this point. But yeah, the decks I run usually are a Blue Moon and an Esper control/caw blade deck. So I'm really more into that control thing. Also, against this kind of deck Boseiju, Who Shelters All might be quite fun too. :)

Ok, that makes sense, that land you suggested would be fun but this is tempo twin and the land enters tapped and deals me 2 damage each time I use it sooo...

March 24, 2015 4:05 p.m.

elpokitolama says... #22

It is a one hit KO against control, tho, the only land sideboardable. Yeah, this word doesn't even exist :p

Solid list, +1 from me!

By the way, what would you think would be a good answer to Rending Volley? A lot of people will be running it specifically to counter Splinter Twin decks.

March 26, 2015 1:55 p.m.

BobTheavgJoe says... #24

That's a good question. The best thing is to hope that they only have room in the SB for like one or two. I wouldn't be two worried though, Krosan Grip is also a good answer to splinter twin decks, but they are still around. Also imo it is much more likely that you see Krosan Grip in a modern SB, because is has way more applications than Rending Volley. However, if you are bent on beating twin Rending Volley will definitely kill the combo dead.

Tyrannosary says... #25

Hydrax there is no answer, that card is obviously sb not mb so I would say that there may only be 2-3 copies in the sb, if so then that means I need to get my combo before they get Rending Volley
