It's awesome to hear everyone else doing so well with something I helped create. I've never garnered so much interest in a deck before. Thank you all very much. :D

I have been working on something similar here
U/W Spirits (SOI Standard) copy
I have taken a few things from you and have a suggestion back Mirror Mockery put on a Topplegeist you can tap down a blocker each turn as you attack, on Rattlechains give something hexproof to avoid a combat trick etc etc?

Not a bad idea, but with how much I bounce my spirits, I don't like the idea of committing an aura to one.

Actually as an idle thought what about Narset Transcendent double up the declerations and Essence Flux if only for the extra counter
April 24, 2016 3:39 p.m.
I built something very similar to yours off this:UW Flash Flying (or, "Of Angels and Geists")
I do like the addition to Hallowed Moonlight , in the sideboard. My FNM plays a lot of BantCoco
I have only kitchenside play tested it, I might bring it to this weeks FNM if I can get out. In addition,
Thoughts on putting in: 2 x Narset Transcendent & 1 or 2x of Jace, Unraveler of Secrets

I recommend 1 or 2 Blighted Cataract and some Evolving Wilds to help get Delirium going. Also, Roil Spout and Disperse are useful against aggro.

I run a similar deck except I don't run Anafenza but I do run Reflector Mages. I use Essence Flux to use their ability as an instant and more than once per mage. I know it loses the +1/+1 effect, but Reflector Mage is really good control and opens up their defenses for my creatures to swing out.
Also, the URL for your deck page says "Spoopy Spectres". Just thought you should know.

I've been considering Reflector Mage for a while but the cohesiveness of my current spirits is hard for me to break up.
And yeah, that's what I titled it originally, but when the deck started getting a little more serious attention, I changed it to a more serious title.

I have both the Reflector Mage and the Thunderclap Wyvern in my deck but your Bygone Bishop and Spectral Shepherd is interesting.
Bygone bishop seems like it would provide great fuel for some Angelic Purge?

I've tried that before as well, but when I had three Angelic Purges in my hand, no Bygone Bishops, and nothing I could afford to get rid of, I changed my mind about it. It was clunky and awkward more often than it was useful.

I decided to play this for game day. I didn't win any rounds and I even lost against a Triskadecaphobia deck despite sideboarding in the Tenacitys. I didn't draw any of them. :/

Give my build a shot. Once I learned to play the deck I did well. Rattle Dem Chainz.

I have had some wonderful success working on a modern version of this deck and it has 2/0'd a junk and a coco deck at a recent FNM. It may have only been luck but I will continue to playtest the deck and I will also post it online soon, but I would love to try this in standard. I was septical that spirits would ever be good again (since original innistrad block when I began playing) but I'm glad to be proven wrong :).

Hey, original Innistrad is when I started playing too!
I'm just excited for Eldritch Moon to come out, because if spirits are good now, they'll only get better with new spirit cards.

Any ideas on substitutes for:
- Always Watching (Might just drop it to x2)
- Hallowed Moonlight
- Port Town
- Prairie Stream
- or Declaration in Stone (Would Reflector Mage or Angelic Purge work?)
I want to make a version of this deck but don't want to spend more than $50 on it. At the same time, don't want to nerf it down more than I need to.
May 3, 2016 1:17 a.m.
I've been using Hanweir Militia Captain Flip instead of Declaration in Stone because I don't have a playset. She doesn't synergies with spirits, but she gets big when you get a wide board and she's won me every game against eldrazi. At the very least you can hope your opponent will waste removal on her.
May 3, 2016 1:38 a.m.
Feel free to check out my variation (I'm gonna put declarations instead of captains once I get them). Rattle Dem Chainz. I actually made this deck before I saw yours, haha. Hey thanks for the shout-out man!
May 3, 2016 1:43 a.m.
patricklvanduyse I've got some ideas for subs:
Always Watching (Might just drop it to x2) - Retreat to Emeria (most people do find this tricky to make work in the current Standard)
Hallowed Moonlight - Negate
Port Town - Evolving Wilds
Prairie Stream - Meandering River
Declaration in Stone - this is difficult to sub. You'd have to see what your meta was paying and decide whether you need to take care of Creatures returning from the graveyard, Indestructible Creatures, or lots of Tokens. Depending on what you decide you could use Celestial Flare, Blessed Reincarnation, Claustrophobia, or Make a Stand to mass block Tokens. If you can afford a Rare that's not too expensive then Crush of Tentacles or Engulf the Shore would work against Tokens.
Hope that helps.

Good point! You can always Essence Flux! Just dominated the board in my last game. This deck is so strong.
