Thanks for the suggestion! I totally agree, Garruk is a bit oit of place in this build. I sorta have him in there to aid my deck when it's not doing what it should. I'm thinking of dropping the artisans sorrow, but that'll leave me with a weakness around artis and enchantments. What do you think?

What you could do is replace Artisan's Sorrow with creatures that can also destroy artifacts or enchantments. There are a few ones like Acidic Slime but those are tough decisions on whether you should play them or not if there isn't an artifact or enchantment out at the time. Other options are Rust Scarab , Viridian Zealot , and Wickerbough Elder . Have you ever considered Primalcrux to help with devotion? It's great in mono-green.

I think I may try to work in Primalcrux, it could be a while before I get any. Acidic Slime can definitely be worked in, and I'm almost embarrassed I overlooked it. I'll be running some playtests with that in soon. Thanks for the solid advice.

I like Khalni Hydra
for this build. It's excellent for your devotion strategy- I'd replace Mistcutter Hydra
with Khalni Hydra
and put Mistcutter Hydra
in the SB.

I totally agree. The Mistcutter Hydra is in there because it's a 100% closed win condition - this is a group slug deck, so I just wanted to be as flashy as possible. What's flashier than saying "I'm infinite. Tap all your creatures, I play all mine. I have infinite life, and infinite mana. I cast overrun on 4 mistcutters and swing for infinity 4x."
Long story short, I knew there were better options, but still opted for the Mistcutter. Since I'm interested in making this the best it can be for all to see, I'll add it in. For the purposes I use this deck for, the Mistcutters shall stay :)
Thank you for the advice!

Leatherback Baloth is absolutely necessary for any Modern Green Devotion list.
Acidic Slime and Deadly Recluse are very subpar in a deck like this. Replace them with 3 Leatherback Baloth and 2 Summoner's Pact to tutor your Karametra's Acolyte .

I appreciate the suggestion and will consider the Baloth, but I don't want to use Summoner's Pact .

If you went up to 4 Llanowar Elves , 4 Elvish Mystic , and 4 Arbor Elf , you could throw in an Elvish Archdruid for another solid Staff combo and a pretty nice backup beatdown plan. Just my two cents.
Otherwise, the deck looks really nice! Great job. It's too bad green has no tutors for Staff of Domination , but if you wanted to, you could splash for Fabricate .
+1

Oh, and the cards I make take out to make room:
Garruk's Horde - Costs way too much for what it does, in modern no seven mana cards are played by a deck other than Tron.
Mistcutter Hydra - More of a sideboard card in modern, and if you want to beat blue that badly, sideboard Choke instead.
Polukranos, World Eater - It's an okay body, and I love it in standard, bomb in sealed but I don't think it makes the cut in modern. Then again, haven't tested with it, probably better than both of the above.
Again, just my thoughts.

I'd be inclined to agree with you, but this deck runs heavy off mana ramp as it is. Truth be told, I just don't see the need for more combo pieces in this deck. I considered using Voyaging Satyr with a few more Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx for another infinite combo, but I found it watered down what the deck is capable of without the Staff.
I partly agree on Garruk's Horde. I have it in there because I find it difficult to maintain creature advantage against removal. He's there as a mini-version of Garruk, Caller of Beasts +1 in my opinion.
Mistcutter/Polukranos are in my mainboard for the times when I've got a bunch of mana ramp and nothing to sink it on. The haste on the hydra makes for a nice touch, too. I consider the protection from blue more of a bonus than anything, the XG and haste are what takes the cake for me.
Thanks for your suggestion! I have multiple copies of the Staff, so I might even consider building something based around the combo you mentioned and the Voyaging Satyr .

Seems like a solid midrange deck. I'd be wary of Jund and UWx control matchups, though.

Thanks samwisesunbear. I may consider that as a sideboard card against decks that are high on removal. :)
Thanks to you too, iamacasual. I'll do some playtesting against those in the next few days.

I'd take out Fog . Your creatures are so big they wont have a problem. Plus most dps today is burn anyways i'd add in Predator Ooze .

Throw some Ancient Stirrings in for a cheap (both mana and $$) green tutor. Don't forget you can also pull-up lands with that as well.

When I looked at the description, I thought thier would be some kind of infinite combo with the staff, but you just ramp out devotion and dump the mana onto Staff of Domination . I think you need to be a little more focused, either its a mana ramp devotion deck (in which needs to have Nylea, God of the Hunt , and Khalni Hydra added, as wll as a little bit more mana ramp). This is modern, you have most of MTG's cards at your disposal, I'd use more mana ramp than Elvish Mystic , Llanowar Elves , and Karametra's Acolyte .
Still, +1, the deck won in playtests, it was just a really drawn out match

I don't think Staff of Dom works in this deck. Staff is good in infinite draw/life gain which requires infinite mana, which you don't have.
January 29, 2014 5:03 p.m.
Here's a brief explanation:
I have 5 green symbols in my permanents. When I tap Karametra, that creates 5 mana. I use the Staff's effect to untap her, using 3 mana and tapping the staff. I have 2 mana remaining. With the 2 mana I have remaining, I use 1 to untap the staff. I tap Karametra again. I now have 6 mana, 1 more from where I started. Repeat infinitely, abuse staff effects, etc.

Ahhh didn't see that. But that relies on devotion. Against aggro decks, I doubt your devotion will be 5.

i think you should have more creatures since you're running Garruk, Caller of Beasts . You have the basic of 24 creatures but 4 more of instants, sorceries, etc. than the basic 12. For an ability to let you possibly get 5 creatures, it'd suck to only get one or two, or even none (especially if you have all that mana to play them) if the top 5 cards on your library are just lands and other spells. Even just cutting 2 other spells and adding 2 creatures could make it more worth while.
