Sideboard

Insidious Roots is an incredible card, but it requires some pretty specific deck building restrictions to optimize its power. One of these restrictions, is playing as many creatures as possible in order to reliably trigger its ability - which doesn't leave a whole lot of room for noncreature interaction. This is where the color white comes in to save the day via an underplayed creature from Thunder Junction called Ruthless Lawbringer. It sacrifices another creature upon entering to destroy ANY nonland permanent, which is just so important in today's diverse metagame.

Finding ways to stock and remove creatures from our graveyard is rather trivial, but what happens when our Insidious Roots gets destroyed? Usually that game doesn't go so well, but another great advantage of adding white is that Serra Paragon not only goes with our main game plan - it also allows us to simply cast our roots again from the graveyard! Not only is every combo piece in the deck recurrable with the Paragon, but so is our main form of removal in Ruthless Lawbringer to supply a continual barrage of interaction while stocking our graveyard with sacrificed creatures along the way. They can even sacrifice eachother to loop multiple times with the Paragon/Overlord and slowly grind our opponents out, whether Insidious Roots is in play or not.
