The Deck:

This is a low-to-the-ground combo deck that focuses on filling our graveyard with creatures for value to set up as many Insidious Roots triggers in one turn as possible. The deck is actually very quick and usually wins on turn 4 or 5 with Tyvar giving all of our plants haste to tap for mana with Roots while Snarling Gorehound stocks our graveyard to churn through our library until our opponent is dead-on-board. This deck is much cooler and more competitive than I thought it would be going in - just make sure you bring a bunch of tokens and dice!

Beating Aggro:

Aggro can be rough for us in game one, but our only goal here is to survive until the midgame where we can start going over the top. Luckily, we have some very good speedbumps in our early game if we can just chump block with Rubblebelt Maverick/Faerie Dreamthief or trade off with Ashnod's Harvester then we are happy to have those in our graveyard. Eventually, we'll create enough buff plant tokens to stabilize before turning the corner. The sideboard is Cut Downs to slow them down and Glistening Deluge to shut them out.

Beating Midrange:

This matchup can be pretty easy depending on opposing interaction. If they have enough mainboard ways to destroy/counter/make us discard our Insidious Roots then the game may not pan out for us, but all we have to do to win is stick a Roots for one or two turns and its usually game over. The sideboard will be Duress and Deep-Cavern Bat since our opponents will be siding in ways to deal with our combo, so the only thing we need to worry about is protecting it.

Beating Control:

This will be our hardest matchup depending on how many mainboard counterspells and sweepers they have. We are usually ok with them sweeping us once, but rebuilding after a second can be pretty rough and Temporary Lockdown is just a stupidly good card against us. But the sideboard lets us throw in Haywire Mites for the Lockdowns and Duress + Bats to skirt board wipes and interaction long enough to steal some matches.

Beating Combo:

We'll actually have a decent time against most combo decks since we have 8 mainboard ways to interact with opposing graveyards and 3 free ways to destroy key creatures at instant speed. All we really need to do is watch out for opposing Insidious Roots/Agatha's Soul Cauldrons, then board in some Haywire Mites and Duress + Bats to prevent them from going off before us in game two.
