Sideboard

Why Gruul?

Because Gruul is our guild, and we will die for what we believe in. To us, life's about being as Bad-Ass as possible within our 45-minute games at 'FNM'S and 'GAME DAY'S. So, how do go about doing this? We beat you to death with goblins, hydras, dragons, and pretty much every FUCKING thing that moves, even BEES!

The plan is to settle threats and turn em' sideways. One of my favorite plays is :

T1: Land, Elvish Mystic.

T2: Land, Goblin Rabblemaster.

Games usually end pretty fast if nothing stops that lunatics rampage. "Oh, I swing for 1. And then I swing for 6. And then 8. Then 10, 12, 14...". Not that I've gotten to do 14 damage in one turn, but it seems pretty fun. Your fatties just ram their bodies against your opponents midget Mantis Riders and Siege Rhinos, and ALWAYS come out on top...

How to Play

Typical R/G aggro, except for the sideboard, which is more meta based against RDW, tokens, and the mirror (except w/ more ramp, so basically MGD). Other decks come to mind, but things like Esper Dragons are just an ass, and so there we just throw down a Rabblemaster and a few dragons and hope they live to see combat. Play is very strait-forward pre-sideboard: You want an opening hand with 2-3 lands, a mana-dork or two, and some threats. An average keepable hand may look something like this:

Forest, Temple of Abandon, Stormbreath Dragon, Sylvan Caryatid, Goblin Rabblemaster, Draconic Roar, Bloodstained Mire.

T1: Temple of Abandon, Pass.

T2: Forest, Sylvan Caryatid, Pass.

T3: Bloodstained Mire, Goblin Rabblemaster, Attack, Pass.

T4: Topdeck Land, Stormbreath Dragon, Attack, Pass.

Etc...

This would be relatively common play, and most of your games are just bee-lined for the dome. This deck can be easily made Post Rotation with a couple of cuts. If you would like to construct this deck, just ask me and I will help you find what you need! Good luck Raping Control in the Ass!

Hope you enjoyed!
