@Sworddude098 it's not counters. I'd rather do Blessings of Nature and even that's on the maybeboard.

In my reasoning, even playing it on an Arbor Elf can serve as a potential board wipe to the opponent, and if not, at least kill the majority. You are severely lacking in powerful board wipes and devastators. That's my thought, but you don't necessarily have to agree. Cool deck though bro!

Hmmm I see your point. Will consider throwing 2 of them in. What do you think I should take out?

very nice budget deck mate. I will look it over more later and play test and see if I can come up with any suggestions for you.

I'd go for Ulvenwald Tracker instead of Pit Fight . Great budget deck! (Though I noticed this morning that the approximate total price of the deck is not appearing with the info on the side for some reason, I hope that is only temporary..) Anyway +1 from me.
March 24, 2013 7:32 a.m.
My problem with Ulvenwald Tracker is that they could just burn it or remove it with Searing Spear , Ultimate Price , or even Tragic Slip before I even get to use it. Whereas Pit Fight could just drop from my hand out of nowhere, and they'd pretty much need a pump or a counterspell in hand to stop it. Thoughts? And thanks for the suggestion!
As for the price, yeah it looks like it's showing the tcgplayer.com price now instead, with Low, Avg, and High. This deck should be around $75, but eliminating the Garruks and Hydras that I already own it's closer to $30

I would recommend Zameck Guildmage in terms of keeping 1/1 counters off undying creatures. That way you can remove counters more frequently than with bioshift, plus you gain card advantage.

Also Forced Adaptation and Shape of the Wiitigo would work really well if you decide to put Gyre Sage back in.

Why not run Nightshade Peddler ?
Works well with all the undying stuff in the deck;
Works well with Predator Ooze ;
Works really well with Revenge of the Hunted .

@Suffy - Thanks for the suggestions, but Zameck Guildmage is green-blue and this is a mono-green deck. Adding blue-green dual lands would triple the $ of building it. Forced Adaptation is awesome but simply too slow, I want this deck to hit hard and fast. Shape of the Wiitigo isn't Standard.
@MonkeyMind - great idea on the Nightshade Peddler . I will playtest. Any ideas on what to take out for it?
March 29, 2013 5:21 p.m.
@Mattao19 - Wild Beastmaster is too easily removable; I'm really trying to go with the whole indestructible / undying thing to make my creatures hard to remove. Champion of Lambholt is something I've been considering for some time... what would you take out for it? Predator Ooze is already taking up the 3-drop slot...
@solnox - I've toyed with Pit Fight but the issue is that it's 2 mana instead of 1. Instant speed is nice as well as being able to fight two of my own creatures, but in most cases I prefer the 1 mana. The reason I don't mind the sorcery speed is that often I use it to pump my Predator Ooze , in which case I do it before attacks anyway. But feel free to playtest and tell me what you think!

i'd go 4 on the ulvenwald, blanchwood armor since it's mono plus cudgel troll, swing or have it fight and activate regen, both cards cheap also garruk, relentless is cheaper and will spit out 1/1 deathtouch wolves that you can have fight a larger creature to kill it or sit as a blocker

Ah, I see you've already put x4 Rancor . I was going to make that suggestion. Cheap card that always makes my life miserable. lol.

@PooPlayer thanks for the comment. I'm still playtesting the Ulvenwald Tracker s but I doubt I'll go with 4 because they're way too easy to remove. I need Garruk for card draw, so I won't be replacing him with Garruk Relentless Flip . All the other cards you mentioned are not legal in Standard.

With so much mana ramp in Arbor Elf and Gyre Sage , I would consider running a couple more "big boy" creatures that green is renown for!
Deadbridge Goliath would be amazing for your deck! Four mana for a 5/5 with scavenge, which is huge for both Gyre Sage and Primordial Hydra . Enough said.
Obvious Thragtusk suggestion is obvious, but this is budget :)
Slaughterhorn - is great for Combat Tricks or as a solid 3/2.
May 23, 2013 4:32 p.m.
@Atsu - Thanks for the comment. You have a good point, but that would move the deck into the much more midrange direction rather than Aggro. I've updated this deck to include black in Golgari Counter Shenanigans which is a much more midrange-y build.
That said, I'd still prefer Vorapede over Thragtusk as a 5-drop 90% of the time. Most people don't play the 'pede due to the triple green, but for me that's not a problem. Deadbridge Goliath is something I've considered for the Golgari deck, but I'm just not sure what I'd take out for it. Maybe Dreg Mangler ?

Instead of Bioshift, you could splash blue for simic guildmage and keep removing +1/+1 counters off undying creatures for endless recycling and draw?

I'm not supposed to talk about fight club...but i'm going to talk about fight club...
Nightshade Peddler + Predator Ooze + Ulvenwald Tracker
Predator Ooze get's deathtouch, have it fight creatures killing them no matter how big they are giving it a counter, then swing giving it another counter or even Prey Upon before swinging for another counter. Pretty soon you have a large Predator Ooze on the field that'll kill anything it touches and be able to clear out blockers, Rancor it to trample through any blockers you haven't managed to fight before swinging.
"....i want you to hit me as hard as you can"
June 2, 2013 5:30 p.m.
Thank you so much for the tips. I have already considered Nightshade Peddler but actually found that he played worse than Prey Upon in most instances. The Peddler is sort of a win-more thing that relies on a combo. I find that usually my Ooze is big enough to kill things on its own anyway (or even if not, a Rancor will usually do the trick)

in mono green Savage Summoning is now an automatic side board card, i'd also consider Mutant's Prey over prey upon considering most of your creatures will have at least one counter placed on them so you'll be able to fight at instant speed. I'd also look at Witchstalker since it's hexproof with the potential to get bigger, i also like Alpha Authority for the hexproof and with all that removal it'll make it easier to get damage through and avoid double blocks
