My current idea on a sliver deck only using cards from theros on, no cards from magic 2014 or any blocks released before it.
The major win condition is getting a hive lord out on turn 5 and steam rolling with slivers past that point, Ive had a lot of ideas on how the deck should be constructed so that it works with control and this is the best ive found so far, but i am open to suggestions.
The thing i love with playing five colors is the options of plains walkers i have. For example i chose Ajani Steadfast because i realize the 2015 slivers have some good abilities but are fairly weak when it comes to power and toughness, so a +1 can boost any 1 particular sliver, or if i have amassed my army i can -2 him and give everything a counter. even my other plains walkers.
Next plainswalker on the list is kiora, she is nice for a little added survivability against any specific creature i might not be able to deal with, or allowing me to play an additional land which can be helpful with the amount of scry land im using.
Liliana is there for the awesome tutor and the chance of getting her ult off and bringing all my slivers back into play for some added fun, im thinking about running 2 of her, but i cant decided yet.
Finally garruk is here for a few reasons, he can create defenders, destroy plainswalkers, and just be an all around bad ass. not to mention if i get his emblum off, my army of slivers will be unstoppable.
Those are the plainswalkers now for a little insight on the rest of my choices, I originally wanted to go with 2 Elvish Mystics and 2 Sylvan Caryatids but found that 4 caryatids gave me more options in the deck, they are great deffenders, they help with some mana advantage, and in my opinion one of the best choices for a deck like this.
Now currently i have a whip for the possible help of life gain and bringing slivers back, but dont know if i should still run it or not, also for card advantage im still deciding if i wanna keep the sign in bloods or go for something that doesnt force me to hurt myself for card advantage.
I also have the 2 Quicklings in my deck for some defence against flying, and the possibility of saving a sliver i may need to keep alive, but dont know if it has earned its place in this deck just yet. and still might replace it for something like
Peel from Reality
or Void Snare
I feel like this deck has the possibility of being really fun once all the kinks are worked out, I love the stacking of
Leeching Sliver
s ability giving me added dmg with every attack, i love hive lord making all my slivers indestructible, and i love sliver hives and mana confluence's making it easy to get all the cards i need on the field with minimal mana issues.
Building this deck has definitely made me love the power of slivers, and i would love any thoughts and ideas to make this deck run that much better.
