Drop the evolving wilds for land that taps for black and red. its better than searching for land that only taps for one colour. you might need it.

where are your one drops ? Nothing on turn one is bad and you'll always have spare manna with nothing to do if you have too many things in the deck with the same manna cost.

obviously put olivia in and i'm not a fan of bloodcrazed Neonate it can get you killed, i'd replace it with olivia or something else.

oh and the myr does work well in this deck but take it out for something else, it doesn't fit, put something like incinerate instead to help your vamps or the black increasing card from DKA that will let you search for what you need

Stromkirk Nobles are a great choice, I would rather have 4 of them then 4 Erdwal Rippers. Though then can be alittle pricey 2 of them would still be a great help. Also as stated above, Olivia Voldaren would be another great card. Grim Affliction or more Volt Charges would be good (If you focus on Counters).

Doom BladeMTG Card: Doom Blade is great, but you might also want to check out Tragic SlipMTG Card: Tragic Slip, the combo of ShockMTG Card: Shock or Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge and Tragic SlipMTG Card: Tragic Slip is pretty sweet-kill off two creatures for a few mana.

I would put in some stromkirk nobles, preferably a playset, along with 2-3 bloodline keepers. Those guys get NASTY. Id also consider some curse of the stalked prey, and a few ruthless invasion to guarantee your guys some counters :)

i hadn't considered the curses at all! Kinda like having another as they are expensive, hard to find and usuallly sold out lol. If i can get hold of them i definitley will :)

cheers guys

Yeah and something i noticed when i ran rakish heir was that i NEVER attacked with him, didnt want to lose the benifit, so i switched him with the curse.

Try deck box! That site is awesome you could pick up a playset of each if you have something good to trade. I would check the new vampires for avr then, there is one that comes to mind that costs 4 (cmc) and gets a +1+1 counter when a creature dies or he does damage to a player.

[[http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?name=+[vampire]||type=+[vampire]||subtype=+[vampire]||text=+[vampire]&color=|[B]|[R]&format=[%22Standard%22]&set=[%22Avacyn%20Restored%22]]]

Those are the new vampires. Also BLOODSEEKER is a great common, that is awesome sideboard against token decks.

shoeface33 says... #8

i may well look into bloodseekers actually, he's always been a favourite of mine (plus i can play my zendikar/worldwake ones and look awesome :P ) and he is very annoying even against non token decks

i will defo look into getting the others though

would you recomend olivia? I cant make up my mind if shes too expensive or not =/

Also @Trmiller1326im never to sure whether to run tragic slip or not. May experiment with Dead WeightMTG Card: Dead Weight, ShockMTG Card: Shock and Tragic SlipMTG Card: Tragic Slip to see what works. At the rate this is going, its gonna be mostly black vamps with slpash of red rather than mostly red with splash of black like it was at the start XD

I like it man! If you wanna playtest on cockatrice lemme know :).. I think you might like blood artist, very useful with life gain :D

Vman says... #15

before i get started ide just to like you know you can tag decks by taking the part after mtg-decks/"insert name here"/ and putting them in the bracket thing for cards this deck would be standard-vampires-20 but with brackets

okso i noticoed how you dont have any form of artifact removal in main nor sideboard..this is really a big no in a meta full of pikes swords and whatnot... ide sugest some CrushMTG Card: Crush or if you verse artifact creatures maybe ShatterMTG Card: Shatter

ide take out Erdwal RipperMTG Card: Erdwal Ripper for some spot on burn like ShockMTG Card: Shock because its very very very likely to die when you drop it lol..and its manacost isnt so friendly to the manabase either. goodluck

May 11, 2012 6:21 a.m.

shoeface33 says... #16

Vman: lol thanks for that, i knew you could do it but i couldn't remember how!! :PSo you reckon take out Erdwal RipperMTG Card: Erdwal Ripper for some extra removal? Also, ShockMTG Card: Shock or Pillar of FlameMTG Card: Pillar of Flame?

KissMy_kASS: Combining both your advice together, i may well replace the ripper for blood artist :P

cheers for the comments guys, like i said higher up, AVR booster box in a week so i should get some good stuff to put it :)

more comments and +1s appreciated :)

well ShockMTG Card: Shock versus Pillar of FlameMTG Card: Pillar of Flame all depends on the meta...if you see alot of decks running Geralf's MessengerMTG Card: Geralf's Messenger or anything with undying, pillar is better..but if there is none or just a small amout ShockMTG Card: Shocks instant speed is just very nice..

Cronax says... #18

You might run ShockMTG Card: Shocks with Pillar of FlameMTG Card: Pillar of Flame in the sideboard for when you need it, I don't think you need the Erdwal RipperMTG Card: Erdwal Ripper in sideboard and the Falkenrath MaraudersMTG Card: Falkenrath Marauders also seem a bit expensive manawise. Olivia VoldarenMTG Card: Olivia Voldaren is a real bomb, especially in a deck like this one since you have good synergy. The best part is that she lets you take over your opponent's threats if they play big dudes and even if you can't take stuff over because you're short on mana, she keeps getting bigger and bigger. You might also consider the new burn card, Thunderous WrathMTG Card: Thunderous Wrath. It's a higher cost card if you have to hardcast it but it can still end games then, and it's just nuts if you topdeck it...

Cronax says... #19

I forgot to mention, Vampiric FuryMTG Card: Vampiric Fury feels nice because it works with the theme, but in practice I've found that it gets outclassed by burn spells...might be a good one to take out for those Thunderous WrathMTG Card: Thunderous Wraths.

Another good sideboard card would be Bonfire of the Damned MTG Card: Bonfire of the Damned as a 2-of or so just to be able to wipe their board.

I have way way way too much love for ) that are always so hard to find/trade/buy and are always either really expensive or sold out. If i can get my hands on some then i definitley will!!

Any commons or uncommons that anyone thinks ive missed? (played the deck jokily with a set of Vampire NighthawkMTG Card: Vampire Nighthawks the other day and it was ridculously good lol)Are there any deathtouch vamps in standard at the moment?

Don't forget to +1 if you like it, or just comment so i can improve this :) Thanks guys

As this deck evolves, you might want to look into throwing in some dual lands Dragonskull SummitMTG Card: Dragonskull Summit

And I +1 a while back :p

May 12, 2012 7:14 a.m.

shoeface33 says... #22

I keep on forgetting about those XD i donnt think i'd run Blackcleave CliffsMTG Card: Blackcleave Cliffs as i'm not sure baout the value late game. i need to remember to order some of those

lol ty for the +1 :P

marsil says... #23

I'd add Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge or Pillar of FlameMTG Card: Pillar of Flame at least to side as red removal would be useful against Mirran CrusaderMTG Card: Mirran Crusader which is played by most of white decks and currently you do not have any protection against such card... W/G can do very easy 8 damage in 3rd round or more ;( and finish you at 4th...

May 14, 2012 6:46 a.m.

shoeface33 says... #24

Do you think Arc TrailMTG Card: Arc Trail would fit? I only have 2 volt charges and no pillar of flame where as i aam looking at my playset of Arc trails right now :PMay give that a go :)
