If you ever decide to splash a little blue, Aqueous Form is greaaat for Vraska's ultimate! You have Sylvan Caryatid to mana fix and you can maybe put in Temple of Mystery or Temple of Deceit ! Just some suggestions :D

ummmm.... caryatid is already in there 0_0. While I understand the need for blue, two colors allows more focus on vraska and less on mana desperation. Thanks for your time!

I like your deck and have a similar one myself!
Whats your experience with primeval bounty and burst of strenght? Never thought about it..
Maybe replacing the wasteland viper with 2 elves, for a bit more ramp?
Or maybe add 2 ultimate price and drop a putrefy and a golgari charm?
+1

ah, this deck as not officially been built yet, so I wouldn't actually know. What I can tell you is that Primeval Bounty is a card that gives me freebies for normal actions and goes well for my actions throughout the deck. Since my highest cost is six, I feel as if I don't need more mana ramp. Plus Caryatid has hexproof, so it's THERE, and gives any type of mana, not just green. Burst of strength is used to untap Desecration Demon after it's been tapped, or even to keep Kalonian Hydra alive early on. I don't use Ultimate Price because although it's cheaper then my current kill spells, it targets mono colored only, while I can get planeswalkers and artifacts down if needed to, rather then just mono-colored creatures. Golgari is a kill spell for enchantments or to regenerate in case of Supreme Verdict or kill spells. Wow this is long. If you could honestly replace cards in here, would you? What would you add?

Hmm you are right with all your points :) maybe add ultiamte price to the sideboard? Cause there are alot of decks without artifacts and planeswalkers (mono b devo..)
And i dont know if you get that much out of wasteland viper..if money isn't a problem, you could replace them with 2x thouthseize

I considered Thoughtseize , but the problem is that is just doesn't fit with the deck. yes I can get the life back with Whip of Erebos , but it would just be easier to kill it on the field. Wasteland Viper gives any creature a boost, and if you use it on sylvan caryatid, BOOM! insta kill against your opponent's creature, you know unless first strike, but I'd be a 1/5 with deathtouch :P . The original formatting of this deck actually did have Thoughtseize , but upon review by higher powers then myself I was told to remove it.

I run a pretty similar deck! I've actually been using and playtesting and modifying my deck for a long time - Golgari Mid Aggro Control - And i can tell you Thoughtseize is your best friend. You need to make sure the coast is clear for your Vraska and what you're doing. Knowing your opponents hand is massive! Even if it's just Duress it's still enough. You also have little way of dealing with Blood Baron and the likes. Devour Flesh is a must for that.
I'm not too sure about the Carytids.. and Grisly seems a bit.. meh :/ Prowler's Helm maybe? more people run Black than they do walls.. I also think Primeval Bounty is unplayable without lots of mana dorks..
Wasteland Viper might be better changed to a Scavenging Ooze , Lotleth Troll or Deadly Recluse . Bloodrush is ok, but when i ran them i never used them for bloo rush.. Golgari is mid ranged atm and bloodrushi for death touch is very neiche. Especially with Reaper on board.
Consider Read the Bones or Underworld Connections too because you'll lose card advantage quickly and it's hard to god draw. Preferably Bones as you get to scry first.
With Golgari where it's at and being very aggressive, you can afford to spend life until you're literally dead. It's kinda the point of Golgari. Everything is a resource. Even life.
I'd also think about getting a sideboard together. Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord is great atm. Would combo well with your hydra. Essentially gives it double strike at the cost of sacrificing it. With a lot of black around i'd look into getting some Dark Betrayal s for your side too.

See, Wasteland Viper is more about deathtouch then bloodrush. Your opponent doesn't see it coming, and that's why I don't use Deadly Recluse . I really haven't seen the need for draws as of yet, but that might be due to me not actually having all the cards yet :P. I am gunna wait until it is assembled, which it will be in the next couple of months, for a sideboard to be considered. Plus this camp is sorta to take to my camp, and according to the people who play there, I WILL win every time. The sideboard I post, if I do, will be a VERY rough. draft

Sylvan Caryatid cant be blood rushed... Wasteland Viper cannot interact with Caryatid at all.
March 26, 2014 6:43 a.m.
Oh wow, facepalm i'm just gunna change it to Devour Flesh for all those card's that have immunity to black, like Blood Baron of Vizkopa . Thanks for noticing!

is anyone else having mana issues playtesting, or is that just me? Just three cards to go until I have all of them, so fingers crossed its only bad luck!
April 12, 2014 8:11 p.m.
Already been considered and tossed. I found it too costly, considering two cards run off of +1/+1 in my deck, and they are mainly for protection. Thanks for the suggestion though!
April 12, 2014 9:34 p.m.
You need more mana for a curve like that. At least +1 swamp.
April 14, 2014 4 p.m.
You can target Sylvan Carytid with your own spells, as long as they're not your opponent's spells
April 14, 2014 6:36 p.m.
but it only works on ATTACKING creatures, and caryatid has defender

You could always replace the Guildgates with Overgrown Tomb to make it more viable.
April 19, 2014 5:36 p.m.
I find the life loss unnecessary because of Sylvan Caryatid for more mana ramp, but thanks for the suggestion! I am considering replacing all of the guildgates with temples; Should I leave the gates or take them out?

Temples are definitely better, no doubt. The only issues could be the price.
April 19, 2014 5:43 p.m.
not a problem; 5 bucks at most, due to pharika sucking. after vraska, abrupt decay, and golgari charm are out, the temple will be worth a dollar at most

I wouldn't run Garruk in this build. Not enough creatures in my opinion. I would run Primeval Bounty instead.
