I have considered him. Main negatives are I dont have any and 7 is the quickest number to ramp too. If i acquired 1-2 I would test him.

Farseek > Rampant Growth with just 1 more Stomping Ground .

Alright zandl, your comment finally made me change out my rampants. Hows this look?

zandl says... #5

It's better. You might as well be getting both Red & Green from your ramp spells.

Any thoughts on how to squeeze a 4th stomping ground in? I just worked out a trade zandl.

zandl says... #7

Uh, take out a Forest because Stomping Ground is better?

Hey TitansFTW, can i get a moment? Manabase talk, a 4th Stomping Ground should go in(right?). Remove a F or M?

The biggest problem I see with this deck is that Valakut Ramp is better than Wolf Run. But if you do Valakut Ramp, then RUG Scapeshift is just better. And even better than that is Amulet of Vigor Bloom.

May 22, 2014 4:30 p.m.

I understand that. But i much prefer this deck. It's how i most enjoy playing. I do like scapeshift, and would probably play it had I any scapeshifts.

zandl I disagree with that statement. Wolf Run ramp can be just as potent, if not more potent, than Valakut ramp. This kind of ramp deck can certainly be more aggressive if played properly, and Valakut ramp relies very heavily on Primeval Titan to work efficiently.

As for your question cakrause86, a 4th Stomping Ground would help the mana base quite a bit, and it gives you some nice things to grab with Farseek . Definitely take out a Mountian as you need more green mana early game.

I thought M would be correct as per the reason you stated. Thanks for the assist.

No worries, happy to help.

I do appreciate it. Especially since you have the competitive matches under your belt with ramp. Useful insights.

so Inkmoth Nexus is a great card im just not sure it has a place in a deck with virtually no power ramp other than Garruk Wildspeaker . also you have ALOT of ramp, like a little bit too much and not enough threats. Solemn Simulacrum isn't doing that much when you're already getting a possible 2 one-drop mana dorks in your opening hand and is just not necessary. I like the idea of Wurmcoil Engine instead, it kinda keeps your 6 mana titan theme going, minus the titan part. and me personally, I would put in another Domri Rade over Garruk Wildspeaker I love garruk, but domri seems more relevent

May 24, 2014 10:26 a.m.

Interesting analysis : )I'm definitely hunting for Wurmcoils.

May 24, 2014 10:32 a.m.

You ever see Prime titan fetch out wolf run and nexus? Ive ended many games that way Keegan8or

May 24, 2014 10:34 a.m.

megawurmple says... #18

Domri Rade is not more relevant in a ramp deck. Ok, he gets you some creatures, but he doesn't ramp. He acts as pseudo-removal, which is great, but that's useless if none of your fatties are in play because you don't have enough mana for them. I'm not saying Domri is bad, but I'm simply saying that Garruk is more relevant in this particular deck.

I did fail to notice that combo and makes me rethink about inkmoth haha. So I withdraw my previous comment about Inkmoth Nexus but just out of curiosity, Thrun, the Last Troll is he in there for kessing as well? if not how do you make him of use?

May 24, 2014 10:42 a.m.

Keegan8or says... #20

I see your point, but garruk isn't exactly a great ramp card, and the ramp theme would play out if you don't have any creature to ramp into. I'm not saying garruk isn't relevant what so ever but I just feel an extra creature, to ramp into, in hand would be a little better than two untapped lands

Keegan8or says... #21

*wouldn't play out

megawurmple says... #22

I have a ramp deck myself, and Garruk is a card that I'm never unhappy to see. Not only does it ramp for 2 (or more with Vorinclex or land enchantments) every turn, but it brings versatility, an incredibly accessible and powerful ultimate, and the ability to rebuild after a wrath by churning out tokens or ramping into another fatty.

Keegan8or says... #23

I would be much more understanding with Garruk if there were land enchantments in this deck, and as I said, he's not useless. If I had a hand of ramp and mana dorks, i and i don't have 1 out of the 10 threats i have, or my fatties have been blown up, because removal exists, especially in modern I would want something to help me dig for more. Garruk CAN help come back from a board wipe, if the opponent is playing board wipes. cakrause86 can do what he pleases with his deck and i respect the fact that you helped build the deck and are helping out your friend by making sure it's as good as possible. I'm just giving my opinion on the deck not trying to argue that domri is better than garruk

megawurmple says... #24

I apologise if I came off as harsh, I was just trying to get my point across. I see what you mean about Domri, I was simply saying that, in my opinion, Garruk is a better choice in here. Of course, there is nothing stopping anyone from running both, as this deck does.

May 24, 2014 11:15 a.m.

@Keegan8or, I am using Thrun, the Last Troll because I couldn't think of another good threat other than wurmcoil, and I don't have the cash. Trying to trade for some, but no luck yet. Thanks for the comments = )
