I'd replace Domri Rade for Sarkhan Vol

deepon, have you tried Sarkhan in a competitive setting(I have not)? He costs 1 more and really relies on your opponent having a good creature to steal, or pumping your own. IMO he is weaker- I don't need to buff my own creatures, stealing is nice but not that nice. His ult is AWESOME but will hardly happen. Domri brings more to the table with pseudo card draw and creature removal. I appreciate the suggestion though.

Yeah I'm not too into the competitve modern scene so the meta isn't something I know well. I don't see Domri used in anything other than standard. I only mentioned the change to help make the deck a little faster and aggressive with your titans. It would be safe to think that I could be wrong though.

I Really think it needs 2x Titanic Growth

Hallowed_Titan says... #7

And what do you think those would replace adgjlohhnhn?

adgjlohhnhn says... #8

I don't think it has to replace something because the format is 60+ cards so just add 2 more and it won't be that hard to get the other things that you want they say 60 is the most efficient but 62 won't hurt.

Also have you ever thought of replacing 1x Primeval Titan with 1x Terra Stomper

August 21, 2014 5:48 a.m.

Primeval Titan is the key to the deck, no way he drops to less than 4. And no way this deck goes over 60, it doesn't seem like going over by 2 would effect its competitiveness but it most certainly does. Just ask the pros(im not a pro). I do appreciate you willingness to help though ; )

+1 for the name bro:)

First of all, I do love the deck, Prime TIme has always been my favorite card. My thing I wonder about is that if the mana dorks are where you want to be at or should you try to make it a bit more like the old valakut or wolf run lists and utilize more land fetch spells and mana rocks. Though I can see why you prefer them with Domri Rade in the list and using his fight ability as a kill spell. I just think they eat bolts really quickly and that can be a bit disruptive for you.

Maybe as a side suggestion, it might be cool to try and model the list off wolf run and valakut and tweak it a bit for modern. I was always a bit weird in my wolf run list and played a main board sword or two and I also played Karn. Maybe a suggestion.

Isn't Primeval Titan on the ban list for modern.

October 18, 2014 10:27 a.m.

Cloudpost is. PrimeTime is perfectly legal.

October 18, 2014 10:58 a.m.

@RAID21: You may be thinking of EDH/Commander. Primeval is banned there.

Just an idea, but what about Prismatic Omen + Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle ? Some free burn while Prime Time swings can't hurt, especially at (minimum) 6 damage. Plus, it allows all of your lands to produce all types of mana, hassle-free! It's a solid landfall-type combo that I use in my deck: Vesuvius

I like the deck, but as i sat there on turn~10 with all my lands played i couldn't help but wish i had a crater's claw or some other sort of burn spell. With 23 sources that can get nasty, and inferno titan (even pumped) doesn't have trample.

January 19, 2015 9:15 p.m.

True, but Kessig Wolf Run can give trample. Also, I couldn't find the room for any additional burn( I used to run Banefire alongside the 1 Bonfire of the Damned)

Thanks for the suggestion cmcrae12345

Played this deck against my aggro-dragon deck (Ancestry of Bolas)... let's just say that was one of the most tough fights that deck has ever faced :D

Could you post a record of wins-loses-draws? I would find that helpful. I am planning on making a similar deck.

January 27, 2015 11:13 p.m.

@The_Wolf_Pack: Unfortunately my area isn't big on modern yet, having only fnm being modern format occasionally and my work schedule doesn't allow me to attend. The only experience I've had with this deck is with my casual playgroup-although we are rather competitive when we play. This deck has a very high win percentage against my group, with this particular up to date build not having a loss yet. If you like it, I'd appreciate a +1 and if you do build a variant I would like to check it out ; ) Happy Ramping!!
