Wild Guess

Aqueous Form (yes i know it's not an instant or sorcery but its still pretty worthwhile

Armed / Dangerous - Doubestrike is awesome, especially if you can swing through unblocked.

Teleportal Titan's Strength so Armed + Titan's strength on a the Nivix Cyclops is 22 damage... throw in Teleportal or Aqueous Form and it's unblockeable

@Skaev I'm liking the Teleportal thats nice. Armed would be cool too I will look further into the implications of this :)

no Steam Augury ? the card advantage is still really good because depending on how you split it, you still get spells into your graveyard.

@sadiuh Thank you, I try to build decks without having to "special" order cards to go with the spirit of casual play. Just happens this one came out, really competitive.

@kanofudo I have not been lucky enough to pull one of those yet. it is very hard to get theros in the area I am currently residing. It would be a very fun card, and fit with the theme.

@MrKnify Have a look at Cyclopian Sniper it runs on a similar theme, but is slightly more combo based than midrange.

I like the idea, gotta love Izzet for being a ton of fun for cheap. I would highly recommend squeezing in a pair of Cyclonic Rift in somewhere, that card has saved my bacon numerous times.+1!My more control-oriented Izzet deck, if you're looking for ideas!

Cyclonic Rift I know I've got a playset and its useless in my bant deck but i have not the heart to rip it out yet, I have however noticed some EXCELLENT overload cards from blue and red, so I may just rethink this one for those board clears.

Guttersnipe ??? It would fit really good

@Alcolitox Guttersnipe is an amazing card, I am looking into getting more as at this time I only have 1. I am also looking into swapping some cards out for overload capable instants. These will trigger some nice abilities, and also buff all my attackers making defence... well hurt. especially with multiple elementals on the field.

I'll also recomend some Mizzium Skin for sideboard to save your creatures from removals, and maybe 2 Aqueous Form for your Nivix Cyclops

I think you should try and find a slot for Steam Augury in here somewhere. Card draw at instant speed is great, and the possibilities of messing with your opponent's head are limitless.

Ok so MrKnify first impressions are good, solid base for the deck with direction ie; you know what you want to play and how to play it, which always helps. You asked about Aqueous Form on my deck as it has been suggested on your deck. I think it is a great card, we know it makes creatures unblockable and has scry which is always nice but to put it into a deck you have to take something out. In this deck i can see the benefit for being unblockable and scry would be nice to see what comes next in your deck but can you afford to drop something? I'll put it this way if you want unblockable think about Rogue's Passage , passage is a land which you already have in your deck and need in your deck so it's a quick switch, the only down side it's a colourless land and you have a few double colour cards in the deck.

One thing i have noticed is that you have 7 different creature cards, 16 creatures in total and 5 of the 16 them are Legendary with quite high CMC. I fear that with that much of spread of creatures it might sometimes be difficult to pull exactly the creature you are after.

I can't see too much wrong with the deck at all and i'm struggling for suggestions, Guttersnipe as a creature for damage off of the instants and sorceries? I think if the deck has not lost in casual then take it to a competition or a club night and see how it goes.

Good luck and + 1 to you

@Tintin I've managed to put Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius to good use, but not too much for Melek, Izzet Paragon as handy with his copy ability for doubling tokens, he does have a bit of a cost. Guttersnipe is one I would like to add but at this time I have a single copy, and that would be more... detrimental to the current flow but it is definitely one I would add, if I do some more aggressive changes ie Weapon Surge or Teleportal as these would further benifit.
Thank you for the Rogue's Passage I will definitely add that one as soon as I find where I put its friends... But one would be a good offset.

Skaev says... #21

Point of interest: you do not double the tokens when you copy a spell. The trigger comes when you "cast" a spell, which means, pay the cost and place it on the stack. You do not do this with Melek, Izzet Paragon 's ability, his is a triggered ability that copies a spell that you have already on the stack.

Guttersnipe is incredible in this sort of a deck format. Wild Guess is not a terrible idea. It works kinda well with the Spellheart Chimera in that you can dump a spell that you are not going to use to add more instants and sorceries into your graveyard.

Also you have a +1 from me. i am a fan of the Izzet decks

I'm kinda stuck here on what to suggest.... Hmmmmmm... Guttersnipe would definitely be an awesome addition to your deck. Have you considered Hammer of Purphoros or Bident of Thassa ? The former provides haste and the other gives you draw power when your creatures attack, which you could easily refill your hand with Young Pyromancer pumping out tokens. Overall I like it a lot, +1 to you!

MrKnify says... #23

@Skaev so Young Pyromancer only gets one token if you copy a spell. gotcha, I know where to cut.

gorgon_locke says... #24

I think Izzet has the potential to be very good if built correctly and this deck looks quite fun to use. I've been tinkering with a Young Pyro/Master of Waves deck that uses chimera as finisher. I love how young pyro tokens are elemental type... ;)

@gorgon_locke I know me too(sans- water), I'm so looking forward to making a Mono-Red Elemental / Lightning deck. Lightning Bolt , Lightning Blast , Lightning Strike , Lightning Elemental you get the idea!!
