You need a way of dealing with fatties. Some bounce maybe Cyclonic Rift , Voyage's End , Disperse , AEtherize , etc. I play tested this against my Mono-Black Devotion and if i got a Desecration Demon out. Game was pretty much mine. You do not need Wild Guess . I would take out and replace with some bounce.

I like this deck, just my opinion I would -2x Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius -2x Wild Guess and +1x Lightning Strike ,+1 Izzet Charm , +1x Purphoros, God of the Forge ,+1x Young Pyromancer .

@marcosousasr Voyage's End over disperse, gives the scrutiny, that would work

@Deathsbaron that is a good cut, but draw suffers long term. The dragons stay.

Looks great man, I know where you heard the "flying goat"... priceless, have you thought about pulling out the onsie twosie cards in favor of multiple copies for consistency? Guttersnipe and Goblin Electromancer are great options too!

maybe side board Anger of the Gods if you run into a deck that makes more tokens then you :P

Nobilior says... #7

Naw, I wouldn't do that. Anger of the Gods would hit a lot of your star players.

@ MrKnify

True that! I really like this build. The only things I can think of is more Steam Vents s (but that's obvious) and maybe one Thassa, God of the Sea for her awesome filter (I know she isn't budget friendly, but if you ever got one I think she could help a lot).

+1 from mez!

MrKnify says... #10

@Nobilior I'd love to add a Thassa, but there is room for only one god in this deck (lols) and Steam Vents is the only one I own (that I can find right now.....) has not been cut, just for namesake. Its a great card, amazing 1st turn. but after that most duel lands stall, either not having the life or just being in play tapped.

I used to run 4 Izzet Guildgate but was checking over Tintins izzet scry deck, I ran some tests without the gates, and bam FASTER better stronger!.

Thank you!

Yeah, thats what I figured.

Good luck, cool deck!

Definitely post back at how your deck went at FNM because if it goes well, I'll give it a shot myself, I already own the god, the shock land, and mizzium mortars, so buying the rest of what I'm missing wouldn't cost all that much, +1 for making a deck thats low-cost yet looks aggressively competitive, was going to suggest Goblin Electromancer to reduce the cost of you instants/sorceries, but then I realized that when you get 2 1/1's that deal 4 damage in total upon ETB, who cares, check out my deck and tell me what you think, its a ways off but its different hahaha. +1

Yea Izzet Master Guild! +1 I think Red Blue for the Theros block is going to be tokens. I mean Young Pyromancer , Molten Birth , and Master of the Waves. I only had like 2 blue cards so I took them out till born of the gods is out, but Pretend There Is Blue In It

Portent of Betrayal might be a good addition along side or instead of Traitorous Instinct ?

October 25, 2013 12:11 p.m.

MrKnify says... #19

@Rochard Traitorous Instinct was just a temporary remedy and will most likely be sideboarded. but thank you for the suggestion.

I really like this deck. I have been putting something like this together after seeing yours. What do you think about Frostburn Weird I almost want to trade out Nivix Cyclops out for it. just cuz its more reliable. you can do up to 4 damage with it but dont have to play a spell every turn to attack with it. Dont get me wrong nivix is way good. but I almost think that the spells are just a little bit too expensive to play in lage amount to buff the nivix. I dont know. just a thought...

And what about Counterflux yeah its good against a control deck. I was thinking sideboard the counterflux and put it Dissolve . and with the scry and your card drawing it might help out more. again just thoughts. Id like to know what you think.

October 25, 2013 6:40 p.m.

MrKnify says... #21

yeah Dissolve would work great, unfortunately I have but one. as for Frostburn Weird its good, but I can ramp out more damage with Nivix Cyclops and it has the benefit of being a better target for them.

What do you do for flyers? Also, did you consider Fluxcharger for this?

BG Burst Mode

SonicKaos says... #23

Gave that a +1. I tried playtesting it and it seemed like a really fun deck to play. I didn't even know Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius was a thing. I think this deck would be the first Blue deck I could have fun with.

Would really like some opinions on my B/W deck if you don't mind. B/W Human Sacrifice (7th at Gameday)
