Artifact death and taxes with Gyruda, Doom of Depths companion.

Thorn of Amethyst, Defense Grid, Lodestone Golem, and Damping Sphere for taxing the opponent. Blow up a dual land or two with Ghost Quarter to hurt their mana base even more.

Chalice of the Void is soooo good in this deck because we do not have any CMC 1 or 3 spells. We can put Chalice on 1 or 3 with no detriment to ourselves. Between Chalice of the Void, Defense Grid, and Phyrexian Revoker this honestly feels like a prison deck.

The other thing that feels pretty broken is the synergy between Walking Ballista and Arcbound Ravager. It almost feels like it isn't even worth it to hit Arcbound Ravager with removal because all the +1/+1 counters just go on Walking Ballista and if you use your removal on the Walking Ballista instead then it will still ping you for all the damage it can before it dies and then you still have a big Arcbound Ravager to deal with.

To be able to afford Gyruda, Doom of Depths's mana cost in this completely colorless deck, we have two Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth. If your Urborgs get destroyed by a Field of Ruin or something it isn't a big deal. The companion is just the cherry on top but not critical to the deck's success.

The one issue this deck has besides cards like Shatterstorm are decks that run all or almost creatures. Defense Grid and Thorn of Amethyst don't do anything versus decks like humans or jund. However, Warping Wail can be sided in to deal with things like Dark Confidant, Bloodghast, Delver of Secrets   or what have you. Also, Ratchet Bomb and Walking Ballista can act as removal when we need it.
