Stifle is a way to win

Casual

Chrono654

I've always liked Stifle. I don't really know why, perhaps it's just because your opponent normally takes everything into account except you countering a triggered or activated ability. Enough of me, let's get to the decks mechanic.

I bet you've already figured out how it works but here's a short explanation. Who won't like to play Eater of Days, Leveler , Phyrexian Dreadnought, or Sky Swallower without the bad side effects?! The easiest way to get that to work would be Torpor Orb but since it is an artifact its susceptible for a lot of cards. The safer way is using Stifle, Trickbind, or Voidslime to get rid of the side effects.

The Trinket Mage will tutor for the Phyrexian Dreadnought and the rest of the cards is to get things done faster.

I'm not sure if it works but I think you could even Trickbind your own Standstill when playing a creature card. I think thats the only way it works. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Stifle would just trigger the Standstill in response once again and your opponent would get the cards. And we definitely won't him to get an advantage of our Softblock.

Feel free to suggest anything that might improve this deck.

Since even Trickbind couldn't stop Standstill from triggering, I went with two Ponder and a Torpor Orb instead. It's a pity I really liked the Softblock. Doesn't matter as long as I can't guarantee an advantage for me, I had to cut it.

-3 Standstill
