Ideas taken from like 3 pretty similar decks I've seen lately, I've been doing alright with this.
I started playing Magic last week, and I'm hoping I've built a light competition deck.
Very interested in cheap suggestions and also good sideboard cards.
Anyways, to the deck.
Creatures
The Major players are Nighthowler, Nemsis of Mortals, and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. All very cheap, with a possibility of becoming huge once I've got some creatures in there. Nighthowler's Bestow is good for board wipes as well.
Shadowborn Demon is good for near guaranteed Flying damage, wiping annoying creatures, and his downside is nonexistent once I've got my graveyard nice and creature-filled.
Deathrite Shaman is not only good for Mana Curve, but I can still get use out of my Lands, Instants, Sorcery, and occasionally the creatures in my graveyard if I need the life.
Lotleth Troll is cheap, adds a good reason to throw creatures from my hand to my graveyard, and the cheap regenerate certainly doesn't hurt.
Elvish Mystic is Mana Curve.
Satyr Wayfinder is a fill my graveyard card.
Instants and Sorcery
Grisly Salvage & Commune with the Gods are for getting cards to my graveyard.
Golgari Charm is great for aggro decks with a lot of 1/1's, dealing with Enchantments, and keeping my huge guys on the battlefield once they're buffed.
Doom Blade is an obvious get rid of problematic creature card.
Gift of Orzhova is for life gain, and to make sure damage gets through.
