4x Steam Vents is good, in case you don't have a Paradise Mantle and want to use Faithless Looting

4x Steam Vents would be good, but I want to try and keep things kind of cheap.

What about Crimson Wisps ? One mana, lets you draw a card, and gives your creature the haste it needs. Hope this makes this awesome deck better. :)

I would run Crimson Wisps if I ran Steam Vents . I don't run Steam Vents , so I won't run Crimson Wisps .

Most of the time, Serum Powder is bad. You either have a good hand or it's a dead draw in the middle of a combo.

This is a great deck. My first try I stormed it up to a 20/20 Blistercoil Weird and then Grapeshot ed for 20 on turn 2. Amazing.

The only queston I have is Elixir of Immortality . Do you really need it? I never used one.

@twospires: Sorry for not responding; I didn't see you there. Anyway, Elixir of Immortality is best when I can't find my combo and need some life fast. Otherwise, it's more instants/sorcories when I need them.

Your deck is begging to use Quicken . It's a cantrip that also let's you summon one of your many sorceries as another!

It's great synergy I just feel like if you don't draw both combo pieces by turn 3 or 4 you're going to be pretty much out of luck against most decks. Especially games 2 and 3 if they've see you pull off your combo already.

It might not be a bad idea to mainboard Apostle's Blessing . I know it's not a cantrip but it would provide a little extra protection against kill and burn cards.
February 23, 2014 12:42 p.m.
@Avernar: Too expensive.
@tigersfan774: But I have so much draw, I can find Blistercoil Weird 2-4. And half the decks can't stop me, so I don't need Apostle's Blessing .

Could Peek possibly be a better cantrip than Thought Scour ? Also, I feel like 3 Elixir of Immortality is too much. 1 or 2 seems like a better number since you wont want to always draw it (I think). If you like 3 could you please explain to me why?
February 27, 2014 8:44 p.m.
No. Once I'm in combo mode, Thought Scour fills up the yard for Visions of Beyond . Plus, it's possible to mill them out with many Elixir of Immortality activations.
On Elixir of Immortality
, the first most important thing it does is shuffles your graveyard back. The second is that it gains you life. Against matchups, the Elixir seriously buys time for you to get your combo set up.

i am buying the cards to build this. I cannot wait to take it to the local shop and just piss off those guys running top tier expensive decks. i am super tired of getting my ass handed to me by tron decks on turn three and four and splinter twin decks doing the same. So i hope you dont mind if i use your deck list in a modern FNM night.

Artful Dodge is definitely a good idea. Another good idea is Elixir of Immortality . It gains you life, and with even decent draws, allows you to go infinite (barring any counter spells). You should have no problem casting it with cards like Manamorphose , Gitaxian Probe and Cerulean Wisps giving you positive mana when you cast them.
