I did poorly with this but it was a hell of a lot of fun to play. I just always seemed to stall out before i could get the win. I liked seeing the other guy sweating it out though as my weird got fatter and fatter. I was probably playing wrong but never seemed to get the grapeshots when needed nor the artful dodge. I did get some looks of wtf? though which was in and of itself worth it in building it and taking it to modern night. Plus i got some great draw cards for my modern mill. and some fine foil Paradise Mantle 's to which is a beautiful card. Who knows after taking my mill ill prolly put it back together and have some more fun with it. Thanks again for the great deck. Final standing on a (slow modern night)1w-3l. Still worth it.

Got my deck and have been playtesting against my others for a while, and I must say, it has been wiping the floor with them!

i did a proxy deck played it against my curse deck, won first game lost next 2 games, then again my curse deck has a sideboard for every situation, like stopping 1 mana spells being cast on turn 2

Would Brainstorm not make a good cantrip in this deck?

It is only not legal because pre 8th edition. Plus to bring it into modern it would have to go through standard and that could break the format. It would also make modern storm even better.

@Markeyp94: Two of Weird, Mantle, and Land. Once I'm at 5 cards in hand, it's land and a few cantrips.

Does Springleaf Drum work as a viable backup to Paradise Mantle ? Having 2 of each might spread the risk a bit, as both effectively cost 1 to get into action.

KnightFire Springleaf Drum doesnt untap aswell so unless you use it and cantrip into paradise mantle you wont get far

@tyforthevenom good point. I have bought this deck on MODO and paper, and will let you know how I get on, it has been fun on MODO so far, but hard to sequence everything correctly, and very vulnerable to the current meta that is removal heavy.

This is a question for if I decide to take this to my local Modern night- how would you battle a Chalice of the Void set on 1? I know a few people in my meta keep those in thier sideboards and was wondering if you had any tech against that?

I run Shatterstorm in the sideboard for that type of thing.

Um why Shatterstorm and not something cheaper like Ancient Grudge or Shattering Spree @KnightFire.
