interesting deck +1 from me! Also, have you considered a 3/2 dragon fodder//hordeling outburst split?

ceji3-Hordeling Outburst is good, but on t3 I want to play Scab-Clan Berserker or Abbot of Keral Keep. Especially in my meta, which tends to start dropping fatter blockers on turns 3-4, I need to oppose them. What do you think about some of the maybeboard options?

I would prefer Monastery Swiftspear over Goblin Glory Chaser. It has haste and can attack in turn 1 wich makes it highly valuable AND you can strengthen it without actually hitting an opponent before. And if you have more then 1 out you can charge them up all at once.

If you cast 2 Titan's Strength on turn 2 for example you already deal 9 damage. The goblin only deals seven and is 1 point tougher afterwords. The point is. Being faster may win you games.

I hope this helped. Great deck btw.

If you use Trumpet Blast more creatures on board is always good, so put in more Hordeling Outburst. You can take out Molten Vortex as it's more like sideboard-material

Anticipate is kinda out of place here, since T2 you'd be better off casting more creature/pumping. And Gudul Lurker is kinda mediocre. You'll be better off using Monastery Swiftspear and burn like Exquisite Firecraft or Collateral Damage(the latter works well with token). Atarka Red proves that Become Immense is playable, so if you're gonna stick with Izzet, then try putting in 1-2 Treasure Cruise to refill your hand

For the sideboard, this deck is not suited for that kind of transformative sideboard. Even if you can counter their spell 2-3 times, the game will drag into late game where most midrange/control deck will outvalue you

Hope that helps. +1 from me

You're running only 20 Lands. You also have Abbot of Keral Keep and Anticipate which will usually exile lands/put lands on the bottom of your library, this will usually make Molten Vortex useless. I also am in favor of swapping out Trumpet Blast for Temur Battlerage if your meta place bigger blockers early such as Warden of the First Tree, Tasigur, the Golden Fang and Siege Rhino. It'll give a nice combo to that plus Titan Strength and will also give Trample along side Double Strike which can easily take down one of those creatures.

I also think Infectious Bloodlust can be swapped out for something better such as Monastery Swiftspear, or even Retreat to Valakut or Goblin Heelcutter or Mardu Scout.

I would put out Swiftwater Cliffs for Islands or something else that doesn't come into play tapped.

You seem to want to kill quickly. Lands that come into play tapped slow you down for a turn eventually and this might cost your the game.

you might consider dropping the #of Infectious Bloodlustto 3 since you can tutor for a new one when its creature dies . definitely stick with Infectious Bloodlust instead of Goblin War Paint

I don't understand the deck or how it runs, but I do like how it looks; however, I would suggest something with UR Artifacts...

November 11, 2015 11:56 a.m.

Molten Vortex is just kinda bad imo. I would suggest replacing it with 2 copies of Outpost Siege. Not only can this offer some great card advantage but it allows you to turn your tokens into suicide fodder by swinging into bigger doods and still get those last points of damage in. A lot of people underestimate this card, and I can't stress enough how good it is in aggro decks that are not as explosive as RDW or Atarka Red.

I used to run a Mardu aggro list before BFZ and most of my games were legit won because of Outpost Siege not letting me run out of gas. This is especially true against control decks that are constantly wiping your board.

I like it quite a bit. I would move Dispel in my sideboard instead of more land.

MartialArt: If I was going to add Monastery Swiftspear, I would have to cut some cards out to make room in the budget. The menace on Goblin Glory Chaser won me playtests on untap.in last night. As for the Swiftwater Cliffs, I don't want any land that doesn't provide red to me in this deck, though I did lower the count down to 1 and increased the mountains.

magnetcrocodile: Thank you for the insight on the side-board. if I wasn't so broke right now I'd have Exquisite Firecraft in, but alas, that is not the case. I did remove the Molten Vortexs for 2 Hordeling Outburst, thankyou. Also, Anticipate is more for the late game, to let me sift through rather than topdeck cards. Gudul Lurker also allows me to load up Titan's Strength and Infectious Bloodlusts on.

IzzetGod: Thank you for the insight on Temur Battlerage. Molten Vortex has been removed. Infectious Bloodlust is key to the deck, though.

notapicle: Thank you for reinforcing my viewpoint on Infectious Bloodlust

Adam_Kaiser1: Thank you for the compliment, though I'm not going to make this an artifact deck.

The_Riddlebox: Outpost Siege was a card I completely forgot about! Thank you for the reminder!

mavereecke87: Sideboard has been changed. Thank you!

Thanks to everyone who commented and upvoted! This deck has been changed for the better!

Nice build, thought I don't like siege here. Too slow. I would trade them for either 2 more Abbots or Ire Shaman. Another alternative is to +1 both anticipate and bloodlust.

Mj3913: I was going to give Outpost Siege a try, but it may be moved to the sb for the Ire Shaman. I have seen it work at FNM, so if Outpost doesn't work, it'll go in. Thanks for the upvote.

I think that Izzet aggro has some potential. The deck needs some improvments tho.You need more Abbot of Keral Keep and Monastery Swiftspear's.I would also add Monastery Siege. It can give you card advantage or protect your creatures. I think it would be nice addition here.

What do you think about making it more Prowess theme? There are some other R/U prowess creatures that aren't terrible.

Walruss This deck has a very strict $60 budget. I have 1 Abbot already, and the Swiftspears I can trade for with my friends. Are there any other blue cards that you can think of that would work in this deck?

have you considered Kolaghan Stormsinger over Goblin Glory Chaser? Same price (roughly) and same mana cost, with the additional morph option, whereas the chaser will need support to become a 2/2 that you aren't really running. Plus when he turns he gives another dude haste which makes him a better late-game play.

Such a trade shouldn't drive you over budget much.

November 12, 2015 7:54 p.m.

Prima says... #17

StUrzasBeardInteresting. Goblin Glory Chaser is great in my meta, but Stormsinger might be a nice addition. I might put him in as a 1-2 of. Thank you for your suggestion.

Hey there, I'm not sure exactly if there's a specific card for which you're hoping to dig with that Anticipate, but if it's just for the sake of having more cards in your hand I might recommend Tormenting Voice or possibly Magmatic Insight. Vaultbreaker's also a thing I guess. I suppose.

In either case I don't believe Swiftwater Cliffs is a great choice simply because your deck is heavy on the aggro and you oughtn't want be set back a turn. If you're dead-set on splashing Blue, I'd consider simply adding two Islands to your deck. Otherwise, Looming Spires could be nice maybe.

What are your thoughts?

November 13, 2015 8:34 p.m.

Walruss says... #19

Maybe you could add Jeskai Elder and/ or Shu Yun, the Silent Tempest

Yesterday Anticipate is normally not to draw a card, but to cycle through the topdecking to find the card I really need. A lot of people think that the Anticipate is for turn 2, but it is not. Swiftwater Cliffs is not actually always bad. I normally don't lose tempo through it, and I don't want anything that doesn't also tap for red. Thanks for the insight, though.

I am adding in a single Magmatic Insight, so you did help.

+1 cool deck! How did you make the background Abbot of Keral Keep?

November 15, 2015 12:24 p.m.

JANKYARD_DOG says... #24

So after play testing a bit I think you should add a couple Islands to increase the chance of getting some blue mana earlier. I had a few hands where I held and anticipate for a long while. If you would rather not, then I would say replace Anticipate with Magmatic Insight as mentioned above. Also, Stormsinger I think should be replaced with Dragonmaster Outcast. As a 1 of it it most likely to show up later in the game anyway and Outcast would make a bigger impact to give you that last push you need.

Midexin Just put in

<img src="(y)" style="position:fixed;top:0px;left:0px;width100%;height:100%;z-index:-1;" />
and replace (y) with desired Image URL.

Mj3913: The Dragonmaster Outcast is a good idea, but too expensive. Blue mana has not been a problem with me. Thanks for the playtesting.
