Soulflayer doesn't need all the abilities of a Chromanticore- flying and haste will get the job done just fine!

This list has been a lot of fun, winning on the efficiency of delve and the raw power of Stormbreath Dragon. The game plan is to drop an early Commune with the Gods or Satyr Wayfinder and hit a turn-three Tasigur, the Golden Fang or Soulflayer. From there, Flamewake Phoenix pops out of the graveyard at the bargain price of 1 red mana, and with Stormy the flying damage adds up very fast.

Sidisi, Undead Vizier is fantastic if the game goes long, with plenty of exploit targets to choose from. There is an amazing satisfaction in sacrificing a phoenix, tutoring up whatever you want, then bringing back the phoenix to attack in the same turn!

Speaking of Flamewake Phoenix, the burning birdy has been the surprise MVP of many games. Opponents often forget about it in the 'yard, and ferocious is very easy to activate. There's nothing like getting boardwiped and swinging back for 6-10 damage on the next turn!
