I think a Muddle the Mixture is a good card for Treasure Hunt decks and i recommend putting 2 in because it will let you search for treasure hunt, that is why i have it in my Storm Hunter deck.

I will definitely throw Lightning Storm in for testing. Pretty sure it will do better than Seismic Assault.

About Muddle the Mixture: I don't think it is worth it. I usually do not have to mulligan to less than 4 cards in it's current state. However right now I am playing casual only. Should counters get more popular in my playgroup, I might change my opinion. I rarely play this deck, just because my playgroup hates it. It's just to annoying.

The Lightning Storms are definitely better because your opponents will sometimes contribute to there own doom, but please consider the Muddle the Mixtures as a sideboard for decks heavy on counter.
