Thanks! That's a very helpful article. =) Can't say I'm surprised it's been thought of before.

Just took it out to its (and mine) first Modern FNM. Well, kinda. We only had six people show up (big tournament in Toronto tomorrow, so some people were going to bed early) so we just played casually.
1-0-1 (ran out of time. we were 1-1 in that match) I'm happy.
2-1ed a Reanimator type deck1-1ed a Burn deck.

I had a feeling when I came across that forum that you mentioned using Dig Through Time as an anti fizzle in, that you were talkin about paradise cantrips. XD Im gonna yoink that idea for testing, Ty.

No worries, I hope it goes well for you - any thoughts on my deck?

Okay, REALLY glad I picked up Dig Through Time at pre-release prices ($2.50 each, IIRC). Yeah, happy about that indeed.

I'm thinking that Treasure Cruise is better than Dig Through Time in this "archetype" (if you can call it that). It draws you more cards, and doesn't require you to get up mana to play. Steelshaper's Gift with Hallowed Fountain instead of Breeding Pool is probably better than Karametra's Favor, especially if you can get Flooded Strands instead of Wooded Foothills. Also Gelectrode gives you another way to combo, but you just won't realistically cast him on 10 lands. Replace with Manamorphose to let you dig through your deck faster and get up mana when you need. Serum Visions is also awesome. Lastly, Artful Dodge is probably good over Aphotic Wisps so you can get multiple casts for Weird (cast Artful Dodge, then flashback it for two triggers), and a singleton Flame Jab to get you basically 2 damage for each extra land you have would be great for consistency.

I've tried Cruise, and it doesn't work nearly as well.
Just about every card in this deck replaces itself - Dig replaces itself and then gives you another one - the worry is not running out of cards.
The thing that stops this deck is running out of gas; drawing into a land, or more creatures. The filtering that Dig provides solves that much more than Delvecestral Recall ever can.

thanks for commenting and the input you gave for my deck. One thing I've considered for my deck to help ensure I get a good start is including 1 or 2 Serum Powder for some chance at mulliganing at the start in case I get a bad hand. Also could help clean up your deck if you start with a particularly dead hand because all the dead cards get exiled.

Gavin Verhey wrote a really good introductory article about this deck I think you should check out. He gives a really good explanation of card choices and interactions available.
