UNDER CONSTRUCTION

PREMISE

We try playing as deceptive as possible by sneaking under the radar with treasure making and card advantage all while suppressing our opponents. This is an all-out deck where all roads lead to the following wins:

  1. Thassa's Oracle

  2. Laboratory Maniac

Politicking plays a big role, so hopefully you been practicing!

Please +1 Upvote if you enjoy my take on Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator + Tymna the Weaver

INTRODUCTION

Esper typically isn't strong suited for Cedh but the meta has slowed down quite a bit since the banning of Jeweled Lotus, Mana Crypt and Dockside Extortionist. I also like a challenge thus resurrecting this Esper farm of Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator + Tymna the Weaver

Combos

I unfortunately will not explain every variation of a combo as there are different ways to perform them. But I will go over a few and explain the standard practice of each one.

Deck Discussion

Aura of Silence:

  • This ability is great by taxing our opponents thus delaying their game, but the drawback is that its casting cost contains double , making this harder to cast and if we draw into this late game, it's a dead card.

Changeling Outcast

  • This is considered a staple with these commanders as it feeds into both of their abilities. But that's all it does. It serves no other purpose; it has no abilities of it's own and ONLY works when one of our commanders are out and that's what I don't like about it. If I have an established board presence or know I'm going to combo off soon and then draw into this, especially late game, it's a dead card.

Defense Grid

  • This is great at taxing our opponents; it acts as a Grand Abolisher to some degree. The only downside is we only want to play this when we're going to combo off. So, we flash it in on the end step prior to our turn, or if we have the extra mana for it, we cast it during our turn. If we play this during any other time, we potentially set one of our opponents up for winning as it will make it difficult for us or any other player to interact with them.

Mnemonic Betrayal

  • I don't feel the upside is all that worth it. We can play it to exile our opponents graveyards to disrupt their resources. Otherwise, we don't run any lines that allow us to really take advantage of this card. We don't run Brain Freeze let alone Underworld Breach lines.

Gush

  • This initiates our draw pattern once we start to dig into our Doomsday pile. It serves no other purpose in this deck besides giving us the initial two draws that we need. This is a dead card that is irrelevant without Doomsday but there are no other cards that give us the benefit to move through the pile without using mana with the exception of Street Wraith.
